I have used trupanion several times because I have 2 80 lb dogs and they have had several issues in which I have used trupanion. Trupanion responds in a reasonable amount of time. I feel they are fair in their evaluations.

My 13 year old dog has an abscessed tooth which requires gen.
My 13 year old dog has an abscessed tooth which requires gen. anesthesia for an abstraction. Trupanion found an 8 year old record that said he had gingivitis when he was three and denied now on the basis of a pre-existing condition. Complete nonsense. I wanted to avoid a general because of his age. After paying premiums for years on a young, healthy dog, I get denied when my old dog needs it. Shame on you.
