At around the age 5, my healthy ShihTzu developed an allergy that led to chronic ear and skin infections. Veterinary care and medications became very costly. As I’m retired and on a fixed income, I worried about being able to afford the care she needed. Thankfully, I found Trupanion Pet Insurance and they have covered 90% of the treatments and medications she regularly needs.

We have been with Healthy Paws ever since adopting our dog in 2015. They have been nothing short of outstanding by providing transparent, understandable, and user friendly service. Most recently our dog needed emergency care, which required us to submit a claim. Within 48 hours the claim was processed and we received reimbursement within the week. We have also referred Healthy Paws to other family members who also have had great experience with them!

Waste of money!
After experiencing so many health issues with my childhood family dog, I was convinced that I would always have pet insurance for every animal I ever own; and advocated for others to do the same. Unfortunately, my experience with Healthy Paws has since caused me to do a complete 180 turn on my opinion. Since becoming a loyal customer in 2015, I can count on less than one hand how many claims were actually covered. With monthly premiums increasing to $150 in 2021, Healthy Paws covered all of $4 out of $200 on my dogs' most recent medical issue. After sinking over $1,000 in just 2021 on one dogs' premium, I was expecting more. But no, they are almost worse than human health insurance companies. Upon cancelling my policy, I was met with the worst customer service after having to call 4 different times to get my monthly premium back. You're better off just setting up a savings account and putting the premium aside in there.

Embrace Rocks!
My experience with claims processing was excellent. Embrace kept me up to date as the claim was being reviewed and processed. I was pleasantly surprised when the claim arrived earlier than expected. Overall, Embrace is a great pet insurance company that provides quality customer care to its customers.

Thieves!!! Do not purchase insurance here.
If I could assign NEGATIVE stars I would. This company steals your money for monthly premiums then refuses to cover anything. DO NOT PURCHASE PET INSURANCE THROUGH TRUPANION. I cannot stress this enough. I am heartsick at how they take advantage of people when their pets are sick. Stay far away from Trupanion Pet Insurance. I implore you.

Once again, Trupanion has been there for my cat's medical needs. I received a fast response and felt relieved that I have pet insurance for these challenging times. Finn’s Dietary Indiscretion was covered!
Finn, my Chocolate Lab was brought to our Emergency Vet for “Dietary Indiscretion” ( he at 2 1/2 lbs of chicken jerky dog treats and was admitted. He stayed for 3 nights as they worked to get him to digest it all and ended up not needing surgery thank God! When I picked him up to bring him home, I received the bill and paid it. I called Trupanion when I got home and the woman I spoke with was very kind. It’s was truly a great experience. She walked me through the entire process and asked about how he was feeling, wished him the best and told me to call back if I needed anything. I went to the website and made my claim in under 5 minutes! I immediately received an email stating that they had received it and I would be hearing back from them soon. The next day I got an email and text saying our claim was approved and that a check was on its way. I’m very impressed with Trupanion and their staff. The kindness they give and the quickness of their process is impressive. I recommend Trupanion to every animal owner I know! Thank You Trupanion!

Anyone who has a pet that they love should sign up for Trupanion insurance!!!! When they get sick you have so much more to worry about than how you’re going to get the bill paid and Trupanion is fast and they are fair and I can’t talk enough good about them and everyone should have this insurance
