Feeble excuse to deny claim
We heard Trupanion was great, and so we signed our retired bomb sniffing service dog up who we recently adopted. Her retirement is being cut short because she took a very quick turn and needs intervention. However, Trupanion used the fact that she's "thrown up occasionally" in the past to deny our claim. Dogs throw up. We took her in to an ER because she started to refuse food, became lethargic, and developed urinary incontinence. If simply throwing up before developing serious symptoms is a basis to deny a claim on organ failure, good luck to anyone else... The appeals process has relied on a bullet point note from an emergency vet who we've never even met. We're not allowed to explain the context of her past vomiting to the claims department (not that we should have to. She got vaccines, eats trash... AKA is a dog). I would be in less distress if I'd never even signed up for pet insurance in the first place. The customer service reps agree with us, but apparently there's nothing we can do. Heartbroken and disappointed to be dealing with this while we watch our dog suffer.

Inclusive and well priced
Given several options, Prudent Pet seems to be the best bet for the money- hopefully I will only need it for regular visits but still a bonus to have!

Outstanding customer service!
I could not be more pleased with Trupanion! When Echo needed next day surgery they worked seamlessly with our vet while keeping us informed and updated at every step. It was such a positive experience during a very stressful time. I have had the same wonderful service with both direct payment to my vet and reimbursement. I never hesitate to recommend Trupanion.

Trupanion is a lifesaver!
Trupanion pays 90% of your medical cost for each illness or injury after you meet you deductible fir the LIFE of your pet! so many people I meet don’t realize that you don’t have to meet the deductible each year but ONLY once per illness/injury! Our big boy Nanuk suffers from allergies and his Apaquel is around $167 per month but Trupanion now pays 90% of that EVERY month. Nanuk also just had TPLO surgery which is around $5,000. I knew it would all be okay though because all I had to do was meet my deductible. This is the insurance you get and pay a little each month and hope you never have to use it. It’s your safety net. But if something major happens - TRUPANION is there! We are retired and on a fixed income. What a blessing Trupanion has been to us. Don’t delay- get TRUPANION today! PS… filing a claim is so so easy!
