Denies All Claims For All the Excuses
Everything looks good on paper and all the pretty ads and probably fake reviews and support that they get. I bought the most expensive insurance plan they had. Embrace Pet Insurance has denied 6 out of 7 of my claims to date. They claim "pre-existing" conditions for everything and find ways to link things together to make them all related. Obviously a pets body parts are all connected. Even after my Vet wrote to them a full statement saying that my pet did not have this pre-existing condition, they still denied my claims. This is the usual fraudulent insurance practice to deny as many claims as possible and keep collecting premiums. I recommend you take your business elsewhere unless you want to try to fight claims all the time. Their Director of Underwriting and Claims carries a bachelors in biology and was a claim adjuster for a year before taking on the role per her LinkedIn. Thats your professional claims leader. I can no longer claim my dogs issues now that he really has a pre-existing condition. Good luck if you want to try them and take this risk.

Easy and timely reimbursement with peace of mind!
I am so happy that I purchased this insurance for my Belle. For years she had no issues, however, as she aged we encountered kidney disease with significant vet bills. Fetch was extremely easy to submit claims and very timely to receive reimbursement. I highly recommend!!!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Do NOT purchase with Trupanion. We wasted thousands of dollars over several years only for our dog to have an accident and get injured, and for Trupanion to deny our claim as preexisting without speaking to us, our vet, or looking into the details. In less than 5 minutes they sent a canned denial letter back and when I called, just regurgitated the same line back to me. There is not and has never been a preexisting condition with our pet and if you can’t be covered during a freak accident, what can you be covered for?? Spend your money wisely. EDIT for Consumers: See Trupanion’s response below, but ZERO follow through on actually wanting to be in touch to discuss. As previously stated - Beware and spend your money wisely. This is not the best option for you and further reading and responses from others will show you that Trupanion does not have your back and will consider anything they choose as preexisting without proof or further info.

Unfulfilled claims
Bad experience they did not process the claim despite my vet sending the relevant documents. Their system acknowledged receipt by email and then later they said they wanted more except everything had been shared. They don’t cover half the things allstate or lemon does.

When it comes down to the actual payout the explanation of what is not covered is sketchy.
When it comes down to the actual payout the explanation of what is not covered is sketchy. Consultation exclusion is not stated on the website as what is not included. It says exams not covered. Also In my case of major tumor removal there were other issues the pet had. No way of seeing this without the surgeon already being in the chest cavity. They took a biopsy of another organ. Of course this in the eyes of Trupanion Insurance Company it is another organ and therefore a separate deductible!? I find that beyond my control to make financial decisions after the fact. Why have insurance? Bottom line, Im glad we had some coverage. The hospital are the heros who prolonged the life of our beloved pet. The insurance was the reason we opted to do the surgery to begin with.
