Thieves who do not pay claims owed
Thieves who do not pay claims owed. I purchased an annual policy for my 9 week old puppy on 2/10/21 to go into effect on 2/11/21 to 2/11/22 to include: companion care, exam plus, hereditary plus, defender, alternative plus. They were giving away one month free companion care which I did not want or ask for. My payment on 2/10/21 was $96.49 because of the free one month of companion care. Each month thereafter I paid $104.54. There is a 30 day waiting period for the hereditary and defender coverage. My puppy went for his 16 week shots on 3/13/21 and the vet noticed he was developing an underbite. Long story short, it’s a hereditary issue and he needed dental surgery to the tune of $4354.50. They have denied my claim saying that the policy really didn’t go into effect until 3/11/21-02/11/22- that would be an 11 mos policy not a 12 mos policy. They have denied my claim in violation of my State’s law. I have a second puppy that I pay $90/mos for insurance - I pay close to $200/mos for my puppies but they don’t cover claims that are clearly covered. If anyone else has been screwed over my this company, please reach out

Trupanion has the best customer service…
Trupanion has the best customer service ever!! They truly care about your pet!! They will walk you through everything and see you through until you understand everything that you need to do. They genuinely care about you and your pet!! I am constantly referring people because of their kindness and professionalism!! I have been with Trupanion for years, Love them!! If you need pet insurance Trupanion is the one!!❤️🥰

I believe its overpriced to be paying…
I believe its overpriced to be paying $50 every month but when I have a $200 vet bill, I only recieve $45 back but havent used the insurance for months.

Trust Trupanion
Thoughtful, kind and thorough is how I describe my experience with Trupanion. They are there for you when you are in tight and stressful situations with your loved furbabies and they made the process of submitting claims a piece of cake. They were there around the clock for help when my puppy ended up in the hospital at 3am. Need insurance for your animal? Don’t trust anyone except Trupanion.

Not worth your money
We got trupanion off of sparkling reviews. However, it was so expensive for 70% coverage with a $700 deductible, I have found it much cheaper elsewhere. We tried to file claims twice, both were met with some way around the loop hole that shouldnt have been. For example our pup had her spay (not covered anyways) but busted a stitch and needed emergency surgery. We planned it for the next morning as she needed antibiotics to lower the infection. It was 1000 (not including the spay) they wouldnt cover because it was 'spay related' and not an 'actual emergency surgery' because it was planned.. We now have a pet with a preexisting condition that Trupanion will not cover but many others will. Customer service to cancel my policy was great though, I said what I wanted and they did it.

My first claim
I entered the claim, it was accepted by the next business day. I received the reimbursement 2 days later. This was much faster than I had anticipated. Great service.

Customer Service At Its Worst!
It is EXTREMELY difficult to talk to anyone about a claim. The wait lasts from 45 minutes to over an hour. They prompt you to leave a call-back number but NEVER return your call. Emails are returned a WEEK later. They delayed reimbursement for a claim I submitted under the excuse that they were waiting on the vet's medical records. I checked with the vet. They NEVER even contacted the vet! I uploaded ALL the required documents to the portal but they did not even bother looking at them!
