So grateful for Healthy Paws Pet Insurance
I've now had Healthy Paws for about 4 years and I was not a believer in pet insurance but thankfully I changed my mind. One of my dogs has had three knee surgeries in the past three years and I'm so grateful for how easy Healthy Paws makes the claim process. Their app makes it about a minute long process and then it's almost always processed within a week. Not only have they covered the surgeries but also the physical therapy to get her back to 100%. I'm so happy to have them because it takes a lot of the money factor out of making the hard decision on whether or not surgery is right for your pup. I'll be a Healthy Paws customer for life!

Nationwide Pet Insurance has been a lifesaver for my pet who suffers from skin allergies!
I am thankful for my whole pet wellness program. If the claim reimbursement process could be sped up a bit that would be great. Other than that I love having this peace of mind with my pet.

I pay a lot of money and yet two of my claims took almost 90 days that is totally unacceptable.

Easy, efficient, and cost-effective!
I have been using Nationwide for my two dogs for years. I continue to be a happy, satisfied customer! I am constantly telling our friends/acquaintances about the importance of pet insurance. It has made our dogs well-care, medical, and surgical needs cost effective.

The unexpected happened and Nationwide was there to help
I picked my healthy year and half old Standard Poodle up from daycare and he seemed a little off. I thought he was just tired from a busy day. Shortly after getting home, he vomited and was off balance. By the time I got him to the Emergency Vet, he was leaking urine. It turns out he somehow ingested marijuana, most likely something he pulled in through the chainlink fence in the play yard. He stayed at the vet overnight and was given fluids, oral activated charcoal, and an intravenous lipid infusion to counterract the drug. He was back to normal the next day. Nationwide paid 90% of the claim. This is my second year with Whole Pet with Wellness coverage for him and I have not had one problem with the claims process. I recently brought home a standard poodle puppy and have her covered with Nationwide as well. The Whole Pet with Wellness is no longer available for dogs under one year old but I plan on upgrading her policy at renewal time.

Best investment I have EVER made!!
Insurance was better than I ever hoped! Claim filing was very easy. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Claim review took 22 days (website said up to 30 days), and reimbursement was a day after the review was complete. M&M had GDV, which is an extreme emergency and required immediate surgery. She did wonderfully, and the $4,000 emergency surgery cost me very little. My deductible, the 10% copay, and taxes (not covered) were my out of pocket expenses. Best insurance experience ever. I emailed my HR department and thanked them for making this benefit available to us.

ASPCA Misleads Customers
I purchased an unlimited policy for my Norwegian Forest cat after he suffered an acute kidney attack at 3 years old. I then contacted ASPCA insurance for a quote on the phone when the representative related that the kidney disease would be covered and not considered a pre existing condition as long as he did not exhibit symptoms or required treatment after 180 days. My cat was symptom free for 13 months when he unfortunately had to be hospitalized to save his life for 3 days due to kidney failure. I then submitted a claim for the emergency room costs of approximately $3,000 after I met my deductible. ASPCA processed the claim and would reimburse $0 because it’s a pre existing condition. I related my initial conversation at enrollment when they replied that the disease must be “cured” and have no treatment after 180 days. ASPCA related that since kidney disease is incurable that I cannot be reimbursed a cent. The representative did not explain to me how ASPCA defines “cured” or the list of diseases that they deem to be “incurable.” ASPCA secured my enrollment , took my money and hung me out to dry based on how they want to interpret terminology when it benefits their organization. As pet owners we will go above and beyond for the health of our animals and ASPCA will take advantage of that.

Excellent Service
We have had two surgeries for our male cat in the past two years. In both instances Healthy Paws paid our claims exactly as our policy stated, and our reimbursement was sent to us very quickly. The surgeries for our cat were in the thousands of dollars, so having 80% reimbursement is a huge relief. The process was fairly simple, and we are very happy with the services we have been provided.
