Best decision I made
This is the first insurance I got for my pets and I have to say I am more than glad that I did. I am truly surprised how easy and fast my claims are handled and I also feel they truly care. I had been paying so many vet bill for my other pets before. I wish I would have gotten insurance for them as well.

Beware of their service!
Today I just changed my address. They told me for updating my address will affect something on the system, but they didn’t explain that it will affected the pricing on my account. Boom! Double the price after the changed of address. They know the price will be affected but they just won’t let you know! If I’m the old customer and the change of address shouldn’t affect any of my rating. You are forcing your customer to accept your current rating without telling them the price will be affected if the change the address, but it doesn’t make any sense that changing the address will change the price too! Just very poor customer service!

Very fast reimbursement
I have had my dog and Nationwide insurance for almost 3 years. We got our pup from a rescue and she was 1 1/2 years old at the time. Unfortunately she has had a lot of medical issues over that time including two expensive knee surgeries. Thanks to Nationwide I don't have to stress about the cost of her treatments. The coverage is the best and I get my money back very quickly. I have had no problems with the insurance and would recommend it to everyone.

Worth It!
I feel like some people are hesitant about getting dog insurance in the first place. I have had a few dogs and I can say they become your family and you want to do everything in your power to save them. Recently my almost-three-year-old dog somehow swallowed a foreign object and is the only way he was going to make it was surgery. The vets did an amazing job and saved his life and then Nationwide covered 90% of all his expenses. I was so thrilled I had insurance with Nationwide. Worth the money!

Sadly Trupanion has gone down hill
We have had Trupanion for three and a half years. In the beginning the coverage and service was top notch, but over the last year Trupanion’s rates have sky rocketed with their customer service tanking. Quite frankly for the amount of money we have paid per month we could have just opened a savings account and put the money there, and that would have covered all of our little French bulldogs nares/pallet surgery. Our three year old Frenchie has the same procedure two years ago and Trupanion covered all but the & $200 deductible. This time around they paid less than half and the claim process took forever. The customer service agents repeatedly told me they were short staffed for the amount of clients they have added. As a customer I don’t want to hear excuses. We are changing coverage to Nation Wide they have had excellent ratings and the same coverage will cost half of what Trupanion has increased our rates to. Originally we paid $161 for both French bulldogs, and with the rate increase our new monthly bill is $300.

Nationwide has been amazing. It seems like everytime Im at the vet, I overhear pet owners talking about how they maxed out credit cards and spent thousands of dollars on their pets health. I never have to worry knowing my pets are insured with Nationwide and it brings so much less stress to my vet visits. Thank you!
