trupanion is worth the money
We have had trupanion insurance since our fur baby was a puppy, she is now 13. We are so thankful that we purchased it. We have had quite a few times that we submitted claims and all have been handled smoothly. It was a good investment and I strongly recommend them.

Best decision
Muffin is my 13 1/2 yr old Maltese. He started having shortness of breath and coughing. I took him to the Santa Cruz Vet Hospital. They immediately put him in to an oxygen chamber. Dr. Burtch is the doctor I have used for at least the past four years. She is amazing. I honestly thought that I would be saying goodbye to my little buddy. Burtch put him on a regimen of medication and they winged him off the oxygen and I was able to take him home at the end of two days. I would visit him in the oxygen chamber but he could not stay out more than a minute and he would get so excited to see me which caused shortness of breath. He had congestive heart failure but he is home now and everyday is a gift. I submitted all my receipts and evaluations which were substantial and Pets Best paid minus my deductible and my 20%. If we did not have the insurance we would have no choice but to put him down or be in major debt. The best decision that we made was to have insurance for our beloved pets.

Overall satisfied
Overall pretty satisfied. However, did not feel like it was obvious enough prior to processing what the maximum annual payments for what wellness procedures would be.

Complete waste of money
What a scam of a company. Doesn't really care about the wellness of your pets. Every. Single. Claim. Denied. They don't cover office visits, they don't cover vaccines, they don't cover de-worming, they don't cover when your pet gets sick. Period. How are you supposed to keep your pet healthy if the insurance company your pay hundreds for a month denies every claim? How can you say you care about pet health if your company doesn't even cover basic wellness? Don't ever get Trupanion insurance. It's a total waste of your money.

I wish people insurance was so easy!
Our American Bulldog Mix (Bella) had to have a mast cell tumor removed, without much warning. Suddenly, we were hit with more than $1600 is bills between the doctors visit and the surgery. We've had Healthy Paws insurance for both our dogs so I knew the claim process would be easy, but that ease is sure appreciated when you're dealing with a 100 lb patient who refuses to wear a cone (she would thrash to the point we thought she'd bust a stitch) and thus needed either me or my husband to be with her... for TWO weeks! It took five minutes to file the claim, and we received our reimbursement before her stitches were even out. Then Healthy Paws followed up with a lovely email checking to see if she was okay. All of our beautiful dogs have been rescued after experiencing terrible trauma as puppies, so having insurance has allowed us greater peace of mind to take care of their needs. I always recommend Healthy Paws! I tell my friends to get it as soon as they have a pup... not to wait. If we're lucky to not have to use it, BONUS! Thank you, Healthy Paws. Keep up the great work!

Worth the money!
This is a wonderful company. I have had horse insurance and dog insurance and this company by far surpasses price and the fact that part of what I pay goes to help homeless dogs really makes me feel good about paying my monthly fee as well. I was moved to post when I had a couple services combined and instead of reaching out to me or finding the one lab that was approved they just paid both because they wanted to take care of my dog! They help me save hundreds a year as I do a lot of preventative testing and help keep my baby healthy! Wonderful company!

Pets best is consistently fair
I have used Pets best insurance for our cats for more than 12 years and we have had a lot of claims during that time. I have found Pets best to be consistently fair and have never had any problems with them denying a claim that I felt should be covered. Actually, it's been just the opposite because sometimes I am surprised that a service qualifies for coverage under my policy such as tooth extractions. Their phone vet consult has helped solve my pets' health problems several times. I feel lucky to have connected with a vet on their help line who has more than 30 years of clinical practice experience. In addition, filing a claim could not be easier. I am completely satisfied with my Pets best coverage and often recommend them to others.
