Although expensive Trupanion has always been very prompt in responding to claims and I appreciate that claims can now be placed directly by the vet so that we only have to pay the difference.

I already have recommended Trupanion to friends!
I already have recommended Trupanion to friends! Had a friend asking about pet insurance and told them how much Trupanion has helped me even with having just adopted my kittens a few months ago. One of them now has what we think is an autoimmune disease, and it’s so nice to have the comfort of insurance for my girls. The 24 hour customer service is also a plus.

I signed all four of my dogs up for Trupanion in 2013.
I signed all four of my dogs up for Trupanion in 2013. For years I didn’t really have to use it (thankfully). There were tough times financially where, as a family, we would look at our budget and see where we might be able to cut some costs. Admittedly we were tempted to cut Trupanion as it was technically something we considered optional. Thankfully, something in my gut told me that was unwise and that someday I would regret that decision...wow were my instincts right on. A year ago one of my dogs got diagnosed with diabetes. I had no idea how costly this disease is. He ended up getting cataracts as a result of the diabetes. This caused blindness in both eyes. It is beyond heartbreaking and you feel helpless seeing your dog lose their sight so quickly. There is a surgery that corrects this blindness but it is almost $4000. There are no words to describe how grateful I am for Trupanion. My dog was able to get that surgery and can see again. I am able to afford his continuing care and his insulin costs are more than manageable. It always a smooth and easy process working with Trupanion through all of this care. My other dog got diagnosed this last Fall with a Chondrosarcoma. I was advised to take him to a veterinary teaching hospital that specialized in cancer and radiation treatments. The odds weren’t in our favor but we wanted to give him all we could as far as time and comfort. Yet again, Trupanion was there for us every step of the way. I’m actually in tears right now. I really can’t type out anything that does Trupanion justice. I didn’t have to choose between the costs of treatment and my dog’s life. The customer service is incredible and everyone is always so kind and compassionate that works there. I will never not have Trupanion! My small token of gratitude towards this company that’s done SO much for me and my family is that I spread the word and have encouraged friends and family to sign up right away. It’s a comfort to know there are businesses still out there that stride towards being honorable, gracious, and genuinely amazing!!

Insurance always feels like a bit of a scam, but I'm risk averse and she's my family. Thus far, Trupanion has been incredibly easy to work with and makes appropriate claims easy, including coverage and process for claims

I've never had any issues with this company, although I haven't had to use it until now. My vet (a VCA clinic) submitted the claim after billing me initially without it and I was happy with the result. If I hadn't had the deductible it would have been even better, but it was good. It's good to know there is some help coming with emergencies and illnesses. You pay the premiums and hope you never have to use it but if you do, then it's worth it. Thanks.

Without a doubt, best pet insurance out there!
After owning many large breed dogs (mostly Rottweilers) and paying out thousands of dollars for knee and hip surgeries, my vet finally suggested it might be worth my while to get health insurance for my dogs. I tried out a couple of different insurances - which I wasn't impressed with AT ALL - before I finally discovered Healthy Paws. I now have two of my dogs on Healthy Paws insurance; Milton my Bullmastiff and Cooper my rescue German Shepherd. It is by far the best puppy insurance on the market. Like your own personal health insurance, you have choices to what you want your deductible to be. It covers far more than the majority of the competitor dog insurances. It is simple to use. The complete Claim process from filing to payout of claim is impressively quick and smooth. They also follow up on your animal to check in on how they're doing - which I appreciate. When your pups are sick, you need support - you get that from Healthy Paws - they care. I recommend them to all my friends and family members. I am a huge animal lover, and my dogs are my family. I have nothing but great things to say about Healthy Paws.

Peace of mind
Trupanion is amazing! All I've had to be concerned with is taking care of our girl. They truly care and pay directly to our vet so we do not have to cover the bill but only pay our portion. We had control over our deductible. Premiums are reasonable and there is never an issue with coverage. Thank you Trupanion for helping us take care of our family.

Buy Insurance before you pick pup up!!
Healthy Paws was a lifesaver! I signed up for insurance 3 days after I brought my 10 week 1.7 lb Pippa home. The 3 days and the 2 week waiting periods or the policy to go active were agony. All I could think of is what if something were to happen. Now I had no logical reason for being so worried. I just was. And then it happened.. at 10 weeks, . Pippa cried out, limped and went lame on her back foot. No cause, just was. Of course it was a Sunday and our vet was closed. But knowing we had Healthy Paws made decisions easy. Off to the ER.. exrays. Pain meds. Diagnosis: broken ankle.Remedy: : Emergency surgery by anOrthopedic Specialist. Estimate:$5500. But with Healthy Paws I knew that finances were the least of my troubles. I have an 80/20 plan. So I knew the maximum I would owe right up front. Sure, 20% is a struggle but one I will happily take on and let Happy Paws pay the rest. Filing a claim was very simple. Just submit the invoices. Provide her limited medical history. Wait one week. Claim was settled for $3800. Week 2: Received my claim checks. Healthy Paws made promises to me and Yes, they followed through! The only thing that I wish they would cover is the office visit and ERVisits. They do not cover those which add up quickly. But for my premium of $30 monthly and my coverage, Healthy Paws still gets my vote!
