Feel really betrayed

I adopted by Doberman when he was 3 1/2 years old. I purchased pet insurance soon after, because I wanted to know if something catastrophic happened I would be able to save him. My boy goes to the vet for routine visits, if he is sick or injured. We have never needed to file a claim. I just received my renewal notice for my 6th year with Healthy Paws and an increase from $157 to $223 a month. Last renewal it was $119 to $157. I had done my research and compared everything when I chose to go with them. Trusting by going with them when he was young, would keep my premium lower. After all, age was not mentioned as a factor for rate increases just the initial rate. Looking at my renewal, it seems my premium increase was due to an ANNIVERSARY ADJUSTMENT. Ironically most insurance carriers have longevity or loyalty discounts. So, I guess the increases are not due to my dog being a year older, but his being insured with Healthy Paws for another full year.

Great service at a great cost

Not bad but not good either. With all their great features, they fail to mention the big downside... price increases. I had healthy paws for four years and was very happy with the service and features. But the price increases were NUTS. I started with a policy for one dog and one cat, both healthy and young. Was paying about $130 per month total. Within four years, that went to $290 per month with no claims. The average increase was $40 a year. After I seen this I started wondering, how long are they going to do this? ? Based on the increases, within a few years, pet insurance will cost more than my own health insurance. Maybe even more than my mortgage after 5 years. Healthy Paws is a lot like Verizon. You get the best service, but at a cost only the rich can afford.

Absolutely the Best! Highly Recommend!!!

Multiple times, I don't know what I would have done without Trupanion. I never want to be in the position where I must decline life-saving treatment for my pet because of the price. I've been using them for many years now and highly recommend them! Thanks, Trupanion!

The Trupanion website was super easy to use; signing up was very straight forward; there aren't alot of small print details to read. Felt like entering into a partnership and not a legal arrangement!
