Love it but don’t like the premium increase.

I have had no issues with Healthy Paws other than now it’s increasing my premium because he’s turning one!? I’ve only filed 1 sick visit claim. I emailed asking if raising premiums every year is the norm.. still waiting to hear back. Now with all the research I’ve done, seems like they do! Not cool!! I read there’s even a class action suit against them and I guess that’s why now they are always giving the reason that it is “Veterinary expense increases”??? Sounds very weird.

Highly recommend Pets Plus Us

Our veterinarian recommended that we consider insurance for our 8-week-old puppy and we are really glad that we followed her advice. The first year we had hardly any claims but year two has been difficult. Our puupy has had to be hospitalized and now has a sports injury that will take some time to address. We have had a consultationwith a surgeon and had to purchase expensive medication. We do have an expensive deductible and 80% coverage but still find the coverage very worthwhile.

Worse than useless

This "insurance" is a rip-off and a scam. Out of six claims, ALL have been denied, even for things that are obviously covered in their policy. The decision takes weeks or months to received. It's impossible to speak to a representative. A waste of money and time.

Peace of mind

Trupanion is amazing. Our 10 yr old girl is getting cancer treatment after having to have her leg amputated because of a cancerous mass in her knee. She is doing really well. Trupanion has paid the 90% of all covered costs after our deductible and we have peace of mind knowing that we will not have to make a decision about our pets' health because of financial reasons. Thank you to our amazing vets and to Trupanion.

Best Decision

Having pet insurance for my dog, Dexter from the day I brought him home is one of the best financial decisions I’ve ever made. Choosing Health Paws is the best. They have paid every claim (and there have been many) exactly as I expected, quickly and easily. Dexter has been “blessed” with ear trouble, allergies and now a bum knee but I wouldn’t trade him for the world. With Healthy Paws, I have been able to give him the treatment he needs without breaking the bank. When comparing insurance companies, look beyond the premium cost and really investigate the policy coverage, especially for chronic problems, because it carries greatly.

They will find any loophole possible not to pay, avoid at all costs!

This company is a total scam, I have no idea how they could possibly have good reviews. We picked up a 8 month old French Bulldog and bought insurance for him on day 1. We had him for about 10 days before we noticed he had a vomitting issue. We took him to the vet for his initial assessment, gave him his yearly meds/shots/boosters etc. Mentioned to the Dr about the vommitting and so we started doing some followup appointments, doing some tests to try to see what was up with Spencer. We racked up about $1500 in bills trying to see what happened, no diagnosis has been given, he has some kind of esophagus issue but further tests were needed. Unforunately, Covid19 happened and so everything got put on hold. I wasn't worried, I pay a lot of money for my insurance so I put through all the bills as instructed only to find out that my entire claim was denied. They didn't pay for a single $1. They claimed that it was a pre-existing condition because we mentioned that when we got him he was vomitting so for the rest of his life, nothing to do with this issue will be covered. Not only that, because they claim this, we can't go to any other insurance company because it will count as a pre-existing diagnosis even though hes NEVER BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH ANYTHING AS OF TODAY! The vet was furious as much as we are, this company ONLY CARES ABOUT $$. Don't be fooled, theres way better alternatives out there!
