I am so happy that I chose VPI/Nationwide for my boy Max, with all his health issues. It eases me know that I have insurance for my furbaby. Its so important for Furbaby parents to join in on health insurance.

Pre-existing condition
I save dogs from being euthanized because previous owners cannot afford the medical care. I would love to see pet insurance cove pre-existing conditions. Example: I saved a dachshund that was going to be euthanized because her hind legs were paralyzed. I got her a wheelchair and trained the new forever parents how to care for a paralyzed dog. She is happy and loving life.

Insensitive and clunky
Very complicated list of coverage percentages, and there's a waiting period of 14 days which I believe to be inhumane. My dog had an emergency during that waiting period and when I called to inquire about the coverage they read me scripted responses and said they couldn't help. Then when I cancelled my plan the operator had the nerve to wish me well, as if any compassion exists in a company that literally won't help an animal in need when the owner is PAYING for coverage.

HORRIBLE COMPANY, WAS GOOD NOW AWFUL
Sneaky company quotes a $1,000 deductible but you must spend over $1,300 to meet a $1,000 deductible! Their own website apologizes for delayS in paying claims...go see for yourself. Calls go unanswered for up to an hour then answered by a Philippine phone room. They dont pay the vet's fee! They dont cover things like stem cell therapy like Embrace does. Trust me, this company haS morphed into a total loser! I switched to Embrace that charges an honest deductible....$1,000 means $1,000! They pay the vet's fee and meds. They covered over $2,ooo for stem cell therapy for my dogs hips (Healthy Paws not). Try calling Healthy Paws then call embrace. Try submitting a claim and see who pays within a reasonable period of time and who does not. Embrace will cover up to 30K annually and thats far more than you may ever need! I URGE YOU TO ASK HEALTHY PAWS HOW MUCH YOU MUST SPEND TO MEET A THOUSAND DOLLAR DEDUCTIBLE. ASK THEM WILL THEY PAY YOUR VET? WILL THEY PAY FOR STEM CELL THERAPY OR ACUPUNCTURE. GO LOOK AT THEIR APOLOGETIC WEBSITE. DO YOU SPEAK TAGALO....CAN YOU UNDERSTAND FOREIGNERS OR WANT YOUR MONEY AND JOBS OUTSOURCED WHEN EVERY OTHER PET INSURER IS HOME BASED. DISGUSTING.
