A Pet Insurer Who Lives Up To Their Name (And Their Claims)
My wife laughed at me when I said I was taking out pet insurance for our dog George. Why would we need that, she asked. Well, a couple of years later we found out... then found out again. One day, we returned home to George's rear legs being paralyzed, and it was clear something was seriously wrong. A visit to our local veterinary hospital led to an urgent referral to a specialist, to an MRI, and ultimately to back surgery. The overall cost was somewhere in the $7,000 range. Although the claim did take a little while to process, it was paid in full (at our 90% chosen coverage level, minus the deductible). Great, we got our money's worth. Well, two years later... the same thing happens, this time a spinal issue further up his back. Same drill: local vet, immediate referral to specialist neurology department. MRI. Surgery. Cost: over $10k (first instance was in Michigan, second in Southern California). This time the claim was submitted and paid *the next day*. I couldn't believe the quick turnaround. No quibbling, or trying to get out of paying. Knowing you can trust your pet insurer to pay up when you need it can be the difference between being able to say yes to a necessary procedure, or saying no. HealthyPaws had been a chance word of mouth recommendation to us from a casual acquaintance who had had a similarly positive experience, and we count ourselves very lucky we got it!

EASY PEASY!
honestly i ditched my first pet insurance because any time i submitted a claim- NOTHING WAS COVERED. they always found some reason or excuse and subsection of a rule for why (x) wasn’t covered or reimbursable. Lemonade makes it so easy to submit a claim with all of its documents and everything that said it would be covered (% of) in my plan WAS ACTUALLY REIMBURSABLE.

User Friendly, Great Customer Service!
I did unmeasurable amounts of research the first year of my pups life regarding pet insurance. I am so happy with my choice! After numerous emergency vet visits for a barely 1 year old I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a plan. Since then this plan has paid off 10 fold. The claims are approved within days and the funds send straight to your account within days. Knowing I can afford the vet no matter what gives me the peace of mind I can give my pup the care she deserves. If you’re thinking about it, just do it!

I still have a question.
I still have a question. Saydee got her rabies vaccine at the shelter a year ago this month when I adopted her and had a reaction to it. She is on Pentoxifylline and I’ve almost reached my deductible. I went to the veterinarian to get another brand of rabies shot, hopefully she won’t have a reaction yo this one. I submitted the rabies vaccine mainly to have it on file. The reason it was denied is because of no illness although yes she does have an illness to the rabies vaccine brand she got in the shelter, this is why I took her to her veterinarian, he gives a different brand. The Animal Dermatologist treating Saydee will write a letter do she can get her dog license without a rabies vaccine although I thought to try this different brand first. Saydee is still on Pentoxifylline.
