Got the help I needed FAST

I have had insurance on my dog, Honey, since I got her at 8 mos. She was diagnosed with epilepsy and had many visits for bloodwork, an MRI, and a spinal tap for her diagnosis. The total of which cost about $4,000. With Trupanion I paid only a small amount of that. After I paid for everything in full and sent the forms into Trupanion I had sevreral reimbursement checks within a week. They reimbursed 90% after I reached my deductible. I would not have been able to take care of Honey without that reimbursement. Thank goodness her epilepsy does not require medication, however if she did we'd it, Trupanion would cover 90% of the cost because I have already hit her lifetime deductible for that issue. The only downside I would say is that they dont cover any exam fees, I think they should cover a pcentage after the deductible, not necessarily 90%, maybe 20-30%. Sometimes that little bit of coverage can mean a lot!

Immediate Reimbursement

I am so pleased that I can get the care my pet needs, and not have to worry about how to pay for it. I have the option of having my reimbursement check sent to me or to my vets office.

insurance rate

service was good and fast, no problems, but after one year the rate went almost 50 % up! and I dropped it! can't afford that kind of increaseand I was explained that it was "rear" level of increase at that level due to fact that it hiked at all companies if you can afford large increase in insurance, I would recommend them

Fantastic service

My four year old staffy mix came up lame one day. Turns out she tore her cruciate ligament. The vet recommended a TPLO procedure. This procedure cost over $5000 and Coco would never have had the surgery if it were not for Trupanion. She had surgery on a Tuesday and the following monday I received the insurance cheque in the mail!!

Great help

I have found Trupanion to be a great help during the last year. My dog lost the use of her hind legs in January and Trupanion helped me out every step of the way. They pre-approved her surgery, sent the payment to vet for me and then covered her wheel-chair. They have helped me with covering her Urinary Tract Infections. I have been very grateful with everything they have helped with and would recommend them to everyone I know who has a pet.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
