Doesn't cover Ear Infections

I have paid my policy on time every month for nearly 2 years. I have never had to use their insurance, until recently my Chow Mix had an ear infection. Keep in mind, I have NEVER placed a claim on my pet. I sent in my claim for his ear infection. It took 2 weeks to review my claim with a result ending in NO COVERAGE?! I am so confused, why wouldn't an ear infection be covered? I understand they don't cover the exam, but what about the treatment? So basically I have had a policy that I have never used and when I attempted to use it, they won't cover something as simple as an ear infection.

Trupanion has been a "true financial companion"

In November, we rescued our first puppy, Katie. She is a beautiful beagle-mix, so sweet, and healthy (so we thought.) I am NOT a fan of insurance, but ourvet recommended Trupanion and they were offering a 30-day free trial, so we signed up. Just at the end of the trial period, Katie developed cherry eye, and we continued with the insurance to see how it would work. It has been four months now, and Trupanion has been a "true financial companion" for us. Within a few days of submitting a claim, we receive an email letting us know they received it, then an email that it's been approved, and then a check in the mail a week later. We (unfortunately) have had several claims in the last 3 months, and Trupanion has been efficient and responsive. Having a sick puppy is stressful enough. Knowing that 90% of the health bills are being covered helps alleviate some of that stress. THANK YOU!

Best Pet Insurance !!!!!

I have a newly adopted Catahoula Leopard Dog who is absolutely gorgeous and absolutely a handful! Thankfully I had enough sense to get pet insurance a few months after adopting her and was recommended Trupanion through my vet. Little did I know that injuries and mishaps would soon follow at a HUGE cost! I would literally be flat broke if it wasn't for this insurance company. My dog is now healing wonderfully after having expensive shoulder surgery which involved xrays, mri, and the surgery itself. The reimbursement is stellar and they have a very quick turnaround time. Definitely the best pet insurance I've heard and one that I'll NEVER be without!

Prompt accurate and efficent

Well in excess of 30 cheques issued and delivered over the last two and a half months and all in record time. Only had one claim put under review and the total claims were well over $13,000 again over the last two and a half months. Never once were we or the Vets questioned which provided great relief and ease of moving forward with treatments.

Best Dog Insurance ever!

Our dog was diagnosed with Pulmonary hypertension, PDA, Tricuspid Valve Dysplasia and other complications secondary to these over 6 weeks ago. His tests and medication alone have been about $20,000. Trupanian has been a lifesaving angel and have covered over $17500 of this amount.Before we got our first claim cheque, we thought that dog insurance was a joke and the company would cover barely anything. We were wrong! While Trupanian does not cover consultations, they have covered 90% of the cost of procedures and medication. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Trupanian to all dog lovers and owners and are very grateful for their servces.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
