Amazing!

I got this insurance when my dog was about 8 months old. I added the hip dysplasia coverage and my total premium per month is $39.25. Thank god I did. Shortly after signing my pup up for Trupanion, we noticed she was walking a little funny and seemed to be having pain. My vet examined her and strongly suspected hip dysplasia but wanted an x-ray to verify. The x-rays were about $220 and she also had bloodwork done prior to the x-rays and sedation. Trupanion paid 90% of all the costs for this to diagnose the dysplasia. I then took her to the vet hospital at Michigan State University to see a specialist. We decided to get a total hip replacement. My pup had her right hip replaced two weeks ago by the best surgeon in the world (literally, the world) and the cost of the surgery and all of the meds, hospital stay, pre-op blood work, and x-rays of her elbows and hips came to just under $5000. Trupanion processed my claim in under a week. I already have my check and they paid 90%, almost $4500. I've had the policy for only 4 months and have paid under $200 in premiums. Trupanion has paid me close to $4800 already for her surgery, diagnostics, and medications for an ear infection and allergies. I couldn't ask for more. Truly amazing!

Excellent company and I recommend to all my friend

Trupanion is the best insurance company I could ask for. My 6 year old American bulldog, Roxy, has cancer and required a splenectomy and chemotherapy. Trupanion has helped save my dog's life and has made this whole experience a lot easier for me. They have paid every claim I submitted so far in a timely fashion and I am confident that they will continue to do so, because Roxy's treatment is still in progress. I will be forever grateful to Trupanion. My other 3 pets are also insured and I recommend Trupanion to everyone I know.

Excellent Company

I did a lot of research and chose Trupanion for my dogs.6-7 months after signing up with them my 11 yr. old collapsed in the living room with a heart issue. She is now 12 and doing wonderful thanks to Trupanion and her vet clinic of course. Trupanion has paid out A LOT of money on her claims. This was the best thing I have ever done for my dogs. This could be the difference between treating and keeping your pet and having to have it PTS due to financial issues. The people are kind and responsive. In my opinion this is a great company.

Trupanion is really great

I was so distraught when my puppy had an accident and had to get knee surgery - it was an emotional and financial strain. But, it was so nice to know that Trupanion was there every step of the way. The customer service is first class, they are 100% responsive and they truly covered everything they promise to.

Happily Surprised

This was my first claim with Trupanion even though we have been insured with the for 3 years. Filing the claim was super easy. I was contacted the next day stating that they had the claim. I was notified less than a week later claim had been processed and the surgery was covered at 90% of cost minuse deductible....exactly as policy states. Many friends and family members were pessimistic about having pet insurance and stated that it probably didnt cover much and may not be a wise choice. I will never have an uninsured pet again so that i wont be faced with a choice of giving them medical attention they need or putting them down. A++++

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
