Great customer service

I was very pleased with my first claim experience with Trupanion. I bought the policy in January and had a $1400+ bill in May for papilloma virus. The claim was processed quickly, and payment arrived quickly too. The adjuster initially interpreted the invoice/medical records to reflect two conditions and thus applied two deductibles. I called and was told to have my vet email the appeals department to clarify that only one condition was diagnosed. The appeal process took a little longer than the initial claims process, but less time than was advertised. Trupanion incorporated the new information and reimbursed me for the second deductible. My vet's note also included a new, younger estimate of my dog's age, which Trupanion changed for me, which lowered my monthly premium. As a health care provider, I appreciate that Trupanion trusted my vet's judgment and treatment without question. All in all, it was an excellent experience and money well spent.

Excellent Service

My claims were submitted automatically by the Receptionist at my Vet's office, and within 24 hours I received an email notice that it was being processed. When I called them with a question, the staff member was quick, cheerful, and inquired about my let's well-being. I have nothing but positive things to say about Trupanion.

Service is great. timely and sensitivity

Our puppy has had a series of seizures and has had to be treated by a neurologist. Trupanion has been an excellent service provider. Peanut seems to be on the mend with medication. Service from Trupanion has always been timely. A real person is there to answer my questions.

Most Reliable- Best Coverage of all pet insurers

My little dog, 8lbs, has had THE WORST LUCK in the last 5 1/2 months. She has had: an ulcer, a severe cough, pneumonia, ear infections, a diagnosis of collapsing trachea, chronic bronchitis (plus a chronic cough), a bone lodged in her throat and now, this week she has a parasite (we are waiting to see if the lab confirms giardia). TRUPANION has been WONDERFUL. They've been quick to pay claims, they have been clear about covered and uncovered portions of claims, the 90% coverage cannot be beat and their staff are kind, caring and incredibly helpful. I switched to Trupanion about a year before this poor pup's luck turned for the worse and I am so glad that I did. I suggest everyone consider Trupanion for their cherished pets. Hard to beat their service or claim coverage.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
