Excellent

I am very pleased with Trupanion and would recommend every pet owner to get this insurance. My dog tore her CCL and I got the best Vet to operate and repair her knee. I also took out the therapy insurance and was able to take her for hydro-therapy to speed up her recovery. If I didn't have Trupanion I would not have been able to afford such wonderful care for my dog.

frustrated about payment

I asked for a preapproval and it got all messed up. I think I was paid the entire amount instead of my vet receiving any. the clerks got mixed up and did not pay attention that 3 claims were really one...all day in vets - then to emergency hospital overnight - then back to vet the next day. one event. seemed to confuse them greatly...i'm sure this happens a lot. they are still working on this option to have preapproval, and they need to work out the kinks. even with several emails, I still think this one is a mess. I want to be sure my vet was paid and I get my part only. I still don't know as my vet owner is out of town and only they know if they got the electronic transfer unless trupanion tells me they paid them which...after 1 week, i'm still waiting for the answer.

TruPanion is the most honest and caring Insurance.

We have 2 dogs with TruPanion and lost one to bone cancer this past few months. She went quick and it was devastating We received almost all of our money back and the Reps. took care of everything for us. They are the most caring individuals there are. The customer service is outstanding. I was grieving so much at the time, I didn't know what to do first. The ladies I dealt with are more than reps. They are special counselors as well. I received 2 sympathy cards from each person I talked to. TruPanion will always have our business!

Pet Insurance Satisfaction

I received immediate attention and was given a detailed explanation of my benefits and a check was sent quickly. And I was kept informed of absolutely every step being taken via e-mail. Could not be more pleased, but I hope I never have to use it again! Also, I could not list my dogs breed down below because the breed was not a choice.... he is a Black Russian Terrier.

we have been very happy with trupanion

My dog had a subluxated patella that required surgery. Trupanion was very quick to respond and keeping us updated with the claim.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
