only for animals with no health history

my cat was diagnosed with allergies before I signed up with trupanion. I have a Persian cat that I found. every time he gets sick, if it has anything to do with respiratory, they will not pay. he has had kittie herpes and an upper respiratory infection. trupanion will not pay, they say the diagnosis goes along with allergies. I am thinking about dropping them. I have had them for 2 years they have paid 0.00. my cat has had the herpes infection now for 3 months. I have gone to the vet at least 6 times and have paid over 500.00 for medications and visits. trupanion will cover none of this,even though he is sick and this is not allergy related.

Awesome...very good services

Hi, Trupanion has been there for us every step of the way with Ginger's illness and has been a life safer...literally for Ginger, without it Ginger would not be with us due to the cost of the medical care.

My cavapoo injured her knee at six months playing at a doggie daycare. Trupanion was amazing in their response time and ease of claim. Don't put the insurance off!

Avoid this SCAM

They will find any excuse to avoid paying. This insurance will not cover anything above the absolute bare minimum, and their coverage policy is extremely misleading. Your pet needs surgery? Fine, if they can't find a way to somehow tie the cause of the surgery to a pre-existing condition, they will begrudgingly pay for the necessary repair - but not for anesthesia, not for IV fluids, not for anything else. Be prepared for them to find a way to avoid paying for 90% or more of your costs. Save your money and look elsewhere. The insurance policy will make you feel better until you actually need to use it.

I recommend Trupanion!!

I would highly recommend Trupanion. I have been with them just under a year now, since I have gotten my puppy & twice I had to use my insurance. They were prompt with working on my claim. Hope I don't need to use them again, but the security that they are there & reliable makes me feel so much better.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
