They will make you pay a "betterment". May as well not have insurance.
There was a lot of water at the end of my street and it fired my electrical system. It's obvious that the city is at fault. They are making me pay 41% of the repair because of something they call "betterment". I thought they were going to make me whole, but I still have to pay 1000s out of pocket on top of my 1000 dollar deductible. I would go with any place else, they are too busy to talk to you, and make you pay anyway. They can easily remove the full bill from the city but I guess I have to do all the work. Useless.
Sonnet's website is extremely difficult to work with. I live in Alberta on an acreage and I am trying to get an insurance quote for my Home, Workshop, Autos and Motorcycles. I was drawn to Sonnet because of the numerous positive reviews on Trust Pilot. I tried to send them an email with all the details with no luck. A customer oriented company makes it easy for potential customers to contact!
Standard insurance company treatment: they are very quick at taking your money and very slow whenever you need to contact them. They ask repeated questions and personal information whenever you call. I was put on hold for 20 minutes just to hear that they had just closed and I had to call back the next day. I really don't understand why it takes 3 phone calls and 2 hours of my time just to cancel a policy I no longer need and never really used. I'll definitely stay away from Sonnet next time I need insurance.
It was my first time getting home insurance after purchasing my home. However, I decided to leave because the insurance price was higher than that of other companies.
The customer service representative, Sarnia, was exceptional. I want to compliment her for her outstanding service. She was kind, understanding, and truly considerate of my situation. During our call, I genuinely wanted to stay with the insurance company because of her.
However, in the end, I decided to leave due to the cost.
They canceled the home insurance policy because my cc got expired and was declined. In the email they said, I have to update the information on my file in three days. It took me a little longer than three days and that's it when I went into the portal the home policy was inactive. There was no email warning if not done in three days the policy will get inactive or any Text message.
The agent on the call said once inactive they can not make it active again. Sorry Sonnet, extremely poor customer service and communication. I am moving.
