The worst customer care experience I have ever had. Kept on hold for about an hour. And was really not satisfied with the service!
I'm so glad that I decided to try an online quote with Sonnet!
I did an online quote with the great help of a repetitive named Ayano. She was very friendly, patience, helpful and professional. She made sure I didn't miss any discounts and did everything correctly. I got a fair price for my car and home insurance. I told my family about Sonnet and my brother is looking into switching when it's time for his and his's wife's insurance renewal. By the way, when I called the helpline, my call was almost picked up with no wait time. When I called my old insurance company to cancel my policies I was on hold for 45 mins.
Two weeks after I purchased the policy and paid two months in advance, I received an email from the company informing me that they were cancelling the policy. The reason provided was that they discovered one of the listed drivers has a conviction. However, they had obtained our driver’s licence numbers at the time of application and should have verified our records before binding the policy. Furthermore, they insisted on cancelling the policy one month later, meaning no refund for the unused portion, effectively forcing me to keep the policy for an additional month. Based on this experience, I strongly recommend staying away from this company due to their lack of transparency and poor handling of customer information.
Have had Sonnet insurance for over 5 years (probably 10) and made first house insurance claim. We weren’t sure if our coverage covered the loss. 3 attempts to get clarification about the policy before being told to read my policy as it will say what is covered and to file a claim.
Reviewed the policy , seemed like should have limited coverage but enough to be worth making a claim. Started the claim process online with expectation someone would follow up. No one did. Reviewed the online portal to see if there were any updates, nothing. So I contacted again, had to repeat all the information I had included the first time. Sent to adjuster. Had to repeat every detail again. Was asked to complete comprehensive list of loss and receipts. Took a lot of time. Then took weeks to hear back that it was decided we weren’t covered.
Asked to speak to supervisor. While waiting for the supervisor call got a call from a different department requesting proof we had made security changes to limit future claims or they may need to cancel our policy.
Was never connected to a supervisor, told I had to go through insurance ombudsman
The above says I need to talk to the supervisor.
I’m super frustrated that the services they provided were so lacking that it took months to get a decision. As soon as policy ends we will be changing providers after years of having used Sonnet.
Easier access to supports, shorter response time would be helpful.
At the end of the day we had belongings stored not at our home and thought we had coverage. The many delays to sort this out was ridiculous, especially comments regarding why we took so long to report after having been trying report but not receiving responses.
Sonnet shift is an app that is designed to make your driing look terrible. No matter how nicely you drive, you will still lose points depending on the time of day you drive (night and rush hour are big nonos), and if your route is "dangerous." Your car has a hands free system to take calls, not any more, this will decrease your score and increase your insurance. You drive 30+ minutes? the fatigue score lowers your overall score.
Sonnet shift wants you to drive like it is always icy out, scores your driving like it is always icy out. If you drive at the speed limit you will lose points, now you need to go 5-10 under.
This is a poorly thought out app that will make drives terrible.
And if you think it is just punishing someone who is a bad driver, I have never gotten into a collision, never had a ticket or motor vehicle infraction.
