They were easy to contact when I signed up, promised the world. However, when my puppy got sick... I didn't hear back from them. I called and it would never get through, I emailed and they answered weeks later. Then, I tried to get the bills covered. It was $800 of my money gone that should have been covered. At this point, they elect to tell me that she needed a health check done before her file could be completed, despite me being told when I signed up that since she was only 8 weeks old that she would not need a prior health check. I paid for 4 months of their coverage, money that wasn't actually covering anything. When I canceled, they wouldn't give me that money back despite that back that she was not covered at all. I cannot say anything good about this company. Avoid it, and move to something with better service like Trupanion instead.

Ridiculous!! Deceptive!! Leads owners to believe they would have coverage!

They denied a claim we had saying our puppy had A pre existing condition. He was a few months old Just because at his first visit to vet We commented that he gets diarrhea and had to switch from grain free to regular food And he gets car sick and vomits. They classified him to have vomiting and diarrhea as a pre existing condition. Well I guess that for the rest of our puppies life if he ever gets sick it will be because of those two reasons All comes back to the food and car sickness Since it is pre existing after all. What a joke!!!!

Everyone was so patient during my crisis whenever I would call in and gave such reasonable supportive support and I called often

During the pandemic most employees I know we're so stressed. My cat had a very urgent crisis requiring surgery and I called in a lot. No one expects in Canada to be talking about money in such a crisis and here we were discussing detail. I found I called people who actually had animals who actually understood how I felt ever on the side of the animal as well as myself. I was given rational, information that made me understand why my claim was taking long. I got more support from these people talking about my pets and the crisis. I would have placed 10 out of 10 but I was told a long time ago in a review you should't do this.

Coverage hasn't started after almost one year of paying!

Very very poor customer service. We have been paying monthly premiums for close to a year but none of the claims haven't been processed and no refund hasn't been made. I called them numerous times to find out what is going on. Each time, different representative tells me underwriting is not completed as the my vets haven't sent them my dog's medical record. So I told them to contact my vets to do so and they said they would. A couple months later, nothing happened so I called again and same conversation happened. Or some said totally different things. One said she would CC me in the Email to the vets. Ive never received any Email. One said she would followed up with me in a couple days, I never got a call back. I also had to call my vet to tell them to complete the process and they said they did. Finally, I spoked to a reliable staff at my Vet who really felt bad about my situation and helped me to find out what was going on. She called Petsecure and they said the medical record they recieved from my Vet was imcomplete as their Fax machine had issue! Why didn't they follow up with my Vet? Basically, they left it as is. They were gonna leave it as long as who knows..It is very unprofessional. Is it customer's responsibility to call vets and insurance company back and forth to figure out and complete the underwriting process? On the other hand, they never forgot to call me to give them my new credit card number when I renewed my credit card. I guess its not their best interest to start the coverage for my dog while im paying the monthly premiums every month. As of today, my dog's coverage hasn't started after paying for almost a year!

They do not have any compassion..Mother passed a few payments were missed they canceled

Mom and I have has four dogs with this insurance company over the years.You would think they would care more but no. My mother recently passed and I have boxes and boxes of mail to go thru.I realized one of the letters was from petsecure.I opened it it stated she had missed payments.Bank had closed her account so yeah.As soon as I realized this I called petsecure to figure something out/pay what was due.With no heart all I got was “sorry it has been to long your insurance is canceled it your dog “They prob got $25,000 plus from mom over the years! in payments and this is the thanks?Pathetic Company.

Monthly Cost

Premiums will vary depending on your plan choice, breed and location.

Coverage

Choose between 4 levels of cover for Accident, Illness and Dental treatment. Secure 1 offers $1,000 per Accident cover, $1,000 Illness cover per condition, per year and $200 Dental cover. Secure 2 offers $2,500 per Accident cover, $2,500 per condition, per year Illness cover and $300 Dental cover. Secure 3 offers $5000 per Accident cover, $5,000 per condition per year cover and $400 Dental cover. Secure 4 offers unlimited cover for Accidents and Illness and $600 per year Dental cover, and Wellness cover. Plans offer 80% coverage (20% co-insurance) after annual deductible satisfied.

Payout Limits

Annual limits of $1,000, $2,500, $5000 or unlimited cover depending on your chosen plan. Limit amounts are per accident or per illness/condition per year. Dental coverage amounts depending on plan choice.  

Deductible

Annual- Age Based Deductibles Deductible A $100 – $500 Deductible B $200 – $700 *Secure 4 with Wellness Care Deductible A $250 -$500 Deductible B $300 – $700  

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll. No age limit  

Waiting Period

48 hours for accidents 14 days for illness 6 months for dental, cruciate ligament injuries or interverebral disc disease  

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not eligible for coverage.
