A good but not the best insurance

In 2003 I signed up my dog for petsecure 3. In 2007 he was diagnosed with diabeties. I was happy he had the insurance as I did not have to worry about treatment costs. I was even able to have cataract surgery to restore his eyesight that he lost due to the disease. In 2010 he was diagnosed with a liver issue and once again all his treatment costs were covered. My dog died in 2011 and his cremation expenses were covered. I found their customer service representatives to be very helpful and considerate. When I had a issue with my policy I felt they listened and the issued was addressed. My main issue with the policy results from the increase in the required co-payments if you are deemed to be in the top % of claims, both in number or amount. This affected me in that twice they wanted to increase my co-payments, I was only treating the diabeties at that time, but I was able to reason with them and explained that as the condition was chronic treatment was spread out over the life of the animal. I was advised if I made a claim for any other condition my co-payments would increase. As a pet ages it is likely they will develope multiple conditions that require treatment and this is when you need the policy the most. As a result I would not purchase a policy with Petsecure again as I was able to purchase a policy where I am not penalized for multiple conditions and there is no limit on the payout for any condition and the price of this policy is comparable.

Hallowe'en: My Late CAT Named "PUMPKIN"

Although there is the deductible, I do find that my expenses are balanced by the veterinary costs and piece of mind. I get the peace of mind knowing that extraordinary expenses will be covered. I hope that does not happen of course but it did for my late cat named "Pumpkin" who developed lung cancer. I forget the veterinary costs but they were considerable and then I decided I did not want to prolong the illness's effects on her...I had told my vet to put her down the moment it seemed she was showing signs of "drowning slowly" because of fluid build up in the lungs. The insurance covered all those expenses too. Pumpkin did live several years after diagnosis, and I remember seeing her leap up high in mid air to chase a butterfly just after I had told my guests that my cat is diagnosed with lung cancer. We all laughed because there was so much life in her still. Thinking about all the great memories I have with "Pumkin" reminded me of Hallowe'en. I have begun the practice of keeping my recent 2 cats in for both the night before and the night of Hallowe'en. I had read somewhere in a newspaper that there a some very sadistic members of society that would think nothing or hurting, maming or even practicing rituals on cats. For this reason, I have become very protective and set up a "sanctuary" in my home and choose one room for this. I have a litter box, food, water and a closed door with ventilation in the room. This way I don't have to worry the cats will get outsid

Wonderful & absolutely necessary

When I adopted Sabrina 4 years ago the first thing I did was look into Pet Insurance. She is my daughter and so I wanted the very best and Pet Secure is it without a doubt. he first claim was because she had to have dental work done extractions of her fangs. I filled out the claim and within a week after faxing it a cheque was received. There have been a couple of other times that a claim was made and it never ceases to amaze me at how quickly you respond.I now have another little daughter who is a rescue cat and have also enrolled her. I feel it is a must .Thankyou for all you do!!!!!

5 year old Multipoo

I have used the insurance for a couple of Maggie's visits and have been very happy with the turn around in payment, but was a little discouraged but the increase in premium and deductable when Maggie turned 5. From $100 to $200 for the deductable seems a bit accessive.
