Petsecure | Pet Insurance Review

After pursuing our breeders recommendation of continuing our puppy insurance, we upgraded our insurance to the preventative plan. We sent in our first claim, only to have it partially denied, due to a pre existing health concern. However, our coverage never lapsed and was in force since birth...go figure. There was no specific intervention other than de-worming which seemed to fix the problem of lethargy. A letter then arrived stating that gastrointestinal problems and associated concerns would now be excluded. This confirms what we had been told about this insurance plan, as soon as you have difficulty it will be excluded....we cancelled our insurance. Don't waste your time. Pick a different company.

Our 3 year old Flat coated Retriever has 4th stage kidney disease. Petsecure insurance has helped supplement the costs for the care she has needed so far.

I guess there is always the not great experiences with those that are good. Mine is a very good experience. Both my boys were adopted from Wpg Animal Services and came with a trial insurance pkg. My first boy developed Parvo only a couple of days after I brought him home. He was in really rough shape, but shouldn't have had it at all as all pups are treated at the kennel. That being said, Buddy's bills were immediately paid, and that was within 2 or 3 days of activating the insurance. Plus I received calls from Petsecure to find out how Bud was doing. My second boy came from Animal Services as well. I did not hesitate to continue with his insurance. In the past, I've had some nasty vet bills and wish my dogs had been insured. It only takes that one time to say 'thank you for being there.' The protection of my animals is paramount. And as they get older, even more so. So, thank you Petsecure and thank you for some of the great staff I've had the pleasure to be in contact with.

This past oct (2011)My sadie had to have her eye renmoved, thank goodness for petsecure,her first surgery was at 4months second at 7months and the eye removal at 10years old plus bladder stones at 6 years ...she is my special girl along with her sister a chihauhau,who is 12 years old..kudos to petsecure and the staff that over sees it.

We bought an 8 month old purebred Bulldog and named her Coco. After lots of research and referrals, choose the most comprehensive plan with Petsecure and are forever grateful that we did. Coco was diagnosed with Subaortic Stenosis, a fatal genetic heart condition when she was just 14 months old. We were beyond devastated. We took her to our own vet as she just wasn't right, she found a heart murmur and did a subsequent x-tray where it was found out that her heart was enlarged. She needed to be seen immediately by cardioologist at the emergency hospital. Before taking Coco to the specialist, I was able to chat "live" on line with a represenative who ensured us that all treatment would be covered accordingy to our plan. We spent alot of money in those first 24 hours, but knowing that we would be reimbursed, allowed us to focus on Coco and not have to worry about the cost of her treatment. She is still with us thankfully, on daily heart meds which try to prevent her sudden death. We will have ongoing trips to the vet and more medical bills but thankfully, becasue of Petsecure, we can do whatever is medically possible to help Coco live comfortably as long as possible. And, our cheque for the initial tests, diagnosis and treatment, was in our hands within a week. We are so thrilled with Petsecure!!
