Petsecure | Pet Insurance Review

I am so furious and frustrated with this insurance company because of all the stress it causes my family and myself. I have never had a claim go through with them without having to fight for a claim in which they left out. I invested in the highest level (secure 4) and they would not cover an ear infection until I called them to complain about that. They also did not cover my dog's annual exam, vaccination and heartworm prevention even though it is stated on every one of their pamphlets and forms that it is covered through secure 4. I find it ridiculous that I have to follow up with them every single time I make a claim and they can't seem to get their own plans right. I thought pet insurance was supposed to put me at ease, but instead I feel like all my money is just being flushed down the drain because they refuse to compensate me for most things I claim. What's the point on investing in this then?

For anyone that is interested in a pet especially a pure breed I cannot stress how important for you to at least consider getting some sort of illness or accident insurance. Our beloved 11 year old bully passed away almost 3 years ago now and was insured by PetSecure since he was a pup (back then it was known as Petplan). We bought the one without life time limitations. It really gives you a peace of mind to let the vet know that "don't worry about costs, just do whatever you can to help my pet" attitude. We had claims of $2000, $4000 and even $6000 paid during several emergencies in his lifetime. We never had a problem with any of our claims as they were always paid within a few weeks. As with regular car insurance it's not to help pay for all the little claims, but when you need it's there to use.Should we ever get another dog again in the future, we would not hesistate to use them again.

Petsecure is a Good company to have your pet insured with. I am so very grateful for their help in saving my small 10 year old dog.(Shih-Tzu) I have carried Petsecure Insurance from the time she was a pup and never had a claim till last year. What a claim it was !!! I think we are in the 20,000. range for a number of health issues and Petsecure came through for us. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them to anyone. I suggest that you insure your dog as early as possible and get the best coverage that you can afford as your pup will become part of your family and you will want to keep him/her with you as long as possible.

We have our dogs and new new kitten covered with pet secure. We have always had our claims paid within 2weeks from submitting forms. We have had no problem at all with this company, and, see having pet insurance as an expected expense in pet ownership. The relief to know that any accident or illness will be covered, and, that we will never have to worry about where funds will come from to help our animals is well worth the premiums we pay. The preventive coverage is extremely important to us as well.

Within 3 days of bringing home our new puppy, he almost died of distemper. Although he checked out normal at the vet on the way home from the breeder, and he came with a complimentary pet secure trial, we were extremely disappointed that because the vet had not activated the insurance on the day of the exam, they were not able to compensate. How do we have any control over when the vet faxes in the activation??????? very unfair.
