Petsecure | Pet Insurance Review

Very "caring" until you use the policy for ongoing pet health issues. Now that our cat has been diagnosed with chronic health issues, that "caring" nature has disappeared and been replaced with policy reviews, decreased co-pay (now 50%), and increased deductible. Not worth the cost of the premium!

Very disappointed with this company! After loosing our older cat we decided to get two kittens and make sure they were protected. After speaking to a very nice lady she convinced us it would be a great idea because we love them so much. After the waiting period and first month paid we decided to take them in, turns out there was an eye issue with the kitten that had occurred within that day or two. The total vet bill was $1500.00 and a lot of stress on us as well. Pet secure told us to provide them with a letter of the time of concern and they would process our claim. It took them 4 months to get back to us 4 months of us still paying them 90$ and finally they get back to us and tell us it is not covered and what I was told about the letter was incorrect. I am now waiting on a voice record of the previous conversation but who knows how long that will take them! 8 am so sorry that I did not read all the terrible reviews this company gets before going with them ... please take my advice and do not waste your time\money on this company.

I am TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED in Petsecure and Western Financial Insurance and the way their "customer care" agent Rodney, has handled my call. After waiting a month, only to receive a notification *We regret we are unable to cover treatment for this condition as it is not covered by your policy...... I signed on after asking NUMEROUS times if the gastropexy would be considered preventative medicine and if it would be covered at the time of spaying. The agent at the time of sign up, assured me that if I signed on for the 4+ plan that it would indeed be covered. I have submitted five claims, and have not yet received any reimbursement. I am cancelling this insurance and will be pocketing the monies in an account for my pets future. This way I can police whether the funds are available or not and whether the treatment is "covered" or not, and I will not have to deal with the bureaucratic red tape only to find out, ooooops sorry your not covered. Think twice before signing up and surrendering your hard earned money. Ensure you have the voice recordings as well request everything in writing before you sign on the dotted line and allow them to determine what is or isn't considered preventative medicine and eligible for payment. I certainly wish I had, I would have at least half of the monies I am now out of pocket.

I signed up for petsecure without checking detailed reviews first (my mistake). Since then my male cat developed a urinary track infection and has been to the vet three times (starting early September) with bills coming to over $1000. The vet has filled out and submitted claims at each appointment and then all three claims together, 4 times since then! They've emailed them, faxed and I've mailed them in and they have all gotten "lost". If this next set doesn't go through I'll be cancelling and enquiring about getting the money Ive donated to them back. Regardless, I'll be cancelling. Why pay pet insurance when you can be approved for financing to pay your bill off over time?

Petsecure has been amazing to deal with , its been almost 2 years and not once have we had an issue - claims are processed quickly and painless-I have a gentle giant that doesn't know his own strength that has needed a few stitches as well as a pretty serious CCL surgery and pet secure has not let me or my fur baby down! thank you! I have only had to call in once about a couple questions and it was the best customer service, so I am one very happy customer!
