Overcharged for 2 years and there is "nothing they can do."

I have been with Petsecure since 2015. I am a veterinary professional and was receiving a veterinary discount on my plan when I originally signed up. I noticed my rate had gone up significantly and that they stopped applying the discount in 2017. I was told they called and left a message (which I never received) checking to see if I was still a veterinary employee. When I asked today what they could to to rectify this situation I was told there was "nothing they could do now." Over the last 2 years I have been over charged approximately $400 due to their mistake. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. The customer service is horrible.

Horrible Customer Service

I wish I never signed up with this company. Now my pet has a pre-condition and I can't change over to a new carrier. I am on their top of the line program, with no late payments. I have had my puppy covered since I brought her home. They are extremely slow in processing claims for starters. Secondly I called in today to check to see if my claim has been worked on as I am still waiting for an August 2018 claim to be process. As it is now October 2018. Of course it is sitting there. My vet sends in a form, and medical record to save time and not have to fill in every condition for the visit. She does not fill in section 2 as the entire medical records state why she was in, which is sent in when the claim form is sent in. Seems repetitive as well as they do it this way for all their patients, them with no issue. These customers must be with a different insurance plan. One that cares about the service they give, so jelous. This has worked for well over a year now processing my claims this way. All of a sudden the company will not accept this. When I called, the service agent was rude, and very condescending. Accusing me and my vet of misrepresenting my puppies file and trying to commit a fraud. Clearly if we are sending her medical record there is in no way misrepresentation or fraud as I have now been accused of. I am so offended, I pride myself in my ethics and to be accused of this and treated this way, disgust and saddens me to no end. Let's be clear, her visit, is a recurring monthly injection for allergies, which she has been taking for over a year now. This company is the worst. Do not get them to cover your pet, they will find a way to not cover the claims and give you a hassle and hard time . I wish I can just submit my claim and receive my money back without hassle and in a timely manner. Unfortunately I am now stuck with them, which infuriates me. I am a single person with no back up of funds, to be waiting over 2 months and then get accused of trying to fraud them, is just ridiculous. Please save yourself the issues and stress down the road and go with a company who cares and has a set of standards who treats their customers with respect. Clearly I did not receive any respect from this company.

Terrible customer service

I requested my pet insurance be effective for the adoption date of July 11. As of July 17 I am still waiting for my binder letter despite many emails and phone calls. I submitted all veterinary records in existence a month or more prior to the effective date. They say I have insurance but I have no idea what the perimeters of that insurance are until I get my binder letter. I am beginning to feel scammed by this company. Is this how they deal with claims? Avoid this company.

Disappointed

I ve been with petsecure for 4 years now. It has always taken about 3 weeks to process claims. My rates have gone up about $25/ month in those 4 years. Recently I received a letter stating my rates were going up AGAIN ( this is a healthy dog) to $122/ month I called and cancelled my policy. Yet ANOTHER payment has come out! When I called in I was told that It was in my contract ( that they mailed me 4 years ago) that cancellations have to be in writing. No one told me that when I called and asked to cancel. I am very disappointed.

They lie about what will be covered and by how much.

They tell you about coverage and then change it. Jack the rates up every year. Terrible to deal with

Monthly Cost

Premiums will vary depending on your plan choice, breed and location.

Coverage

Choose between 4 levels of cover for Accident, Illness and Dental treatment. Secure 1 offers $1,000 per Accident cover, $1,000 Illness cover per condition, per year and $200 Dental cover. Secure 2 offers $2,500 per Accident cover, $2,500 per condition, per year Illness cover and $300 Dental cover. Secure 3 offers $5000 per Accident cover, $5,000 per condition per year cover and $400 Dental cover. Secure 4 offers unlimited cover for Accidents and Illness and $600 per year Dental cover, and Wellness cover. Plans offer 80% coverage (20% co-insurance) after annual deductible satisfied.

Payout Limits

Annual limits of $1,000, $2,500, $5000 or unlimited cover depending on your chosen plan. Limit amounts are per accident or per illness/condition per year. Dental coverage amounts depending on plan choice.  

Deductible

Annual- Age Based Deductibles Deductible A $100 – $500 Deductible B $200 – $700 *Secure 4 with Wellness Care Deductible A $250 -$500 Deductible B $300 – $700  

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll. No age limit  

Waiting Period

48 hours for accidents 14 days for illness 6 months for dental, cruciate ligament injuries or interverebral disc disease  

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not eligible for coverage.
