Don’t bother. Just save the monthly cost and pay out of pocket.

I would be better off just putting $55 every month in a separate account just in case I need it for my pet. I have found the accident/illness and separate wellness coverage to be utterly useless.

Not impressed by the timeline of events

I utilize the app and uploaded the after care notes, vet records and payment details within the same day and I am STILL waiting for my reimbursement after a month. Called twice to get a status update and even though the customer service was friendly, they only kept to the script without giving further details. My Vet was readily available to call the insurance company on behalf of us to try to help but customer service still said that it was their processing team that was behind schedule. I’m not impressed by the timeline and the additional funds they removed from the total amount I should receive back.

Easy to submit and get paid

They make it very easy to submit claims and are easy to communicate with if you have any questions. Payment takes about a month or so, but they pay as they promise.

Pets Best is NOT BEST

We pay for Wellness and check ups. We submit our invoices and they are never covered. Pets Best is NOT BEST! Avoid them if you can.

Big Price Increase this Year

I would give Pets Best a 5 star review for their first five years of coverage. Their claim submission process is easy and they quickly paid like they said they would. I recommended them all the time. In the first five years I only had one small increase in price, but this year I got hit with a 45% premium increase.That was a bit disheartening and makes me wonder if I’ll be able to keep it long term. Otherwise, a great product.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
