Not impressed

The time they took to reimburse is too long. And the premium increase of most 20% for the second year is unexpected. The coverage isn’t even that inclusive that they oftenly calculate each item individually and at the end of day it’s not 80%/90%/100% coverage at all.

Great plan/coverage options

Takes a bit for the claim to get processed but so far no issues and the plans/ coverages are better than most other insurance providers. Would recommend to anyone who loves their pet!

The cost per month has gone up…

The cost per month has gone up astronomically this year. A few dollars a month every year makes sense, but this last year's hike sucked. And it takes a long time to process which isn't a big deal but for what we're paying now I feel like that's rough. Re: reply. Over 6 years my dogs insurance slowly went up 42%. Now, this coming year, it's going up 36% over last year. The increase over time has been okay, this year has just been way more than any other year, just about the same as my over all increase in the previous 5 renewals. This has nothing to do with each dog getting a small increase and everything to do with nearly doubling the costs since I got it.

Not sure worth it

In my experience, this company groups together unrelated incidents / illnesses (such as skin itchiness with negative ringworm test = ringworm which developed later), to avoid paying for significant vet bills. Also it seems like the deductible is high before they start paying anything. Most normal vet care won't meet the deductible, so this insurance is useless except in major calamities. They also are very strict about not covering pre-existing conditions. I am frustrated and worry it's a waste of my money.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
