Big bill mostly covered

Willow stopped pooping and started throwing up. We thought she might have an obstruction, lots of tests later found she only had an intestin infection. It was still over $1000! Thank goodness for Pets Best. They came thru with flying colors for us!!

Very pleased with Pets Best

Very pleased with Pets Best. Quick to process claims, friendly and kind customer service people when you call them. Hold times are sometimes unpleasantly long, but that's becoming the norm for all phone-in customer service during Covid times. Highly recommend Pets Best. When renewal comes up, I plan to add the routine care coverage option as well, seems very reasonable cost (can only be added at policy renewal date).

I am very happy with with Pets Best coverage for our pups.

I am very happy with with Pets Best Insurance! We have two young dogs and knowing we don't have to make important decisions about their health based on how we will pay for it is so great. The online portal for submitting claims is easy and fast and I get email updates on the status of any claims. We will never adopt a new furry family member without PB.

We are very disappointed and frustrated…

We are very disappointed and frustrated that the medication used to treat our dog's giardia is not covered. While I understand that the medication CAN be used to treat worms (a wellness condition) it is also used to treat other illnesses, such as giardia. According to our vet, this prescription was the best and most effective prescription to treat our dog's severe case of giardia. It makes no sense that our policy covers the illness but not the medicine to treat it. Our policy would have covered a more expensive, less effective medicine, since this alternative was not on your "wellness" medication list. When a drug can be used for numerous conditions, including ones that ARE covered, it should not be labeled as a "wellness" drug. FOLLOW-UP-I submitted a letter appealing the decision and was told they that would NOT cover the cost of the prescription, very disappointing!

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
