This is the only pet insurance to have

This is the only pet insurance to have. My niece who is a veterinarian recommended it after another company found some reason not to pay when my cat needed intensive care before she died. This literally IS the BEST insurance for your pets. I don’t have to choose between my fur baby’s getting treatment and my mortgage.

Easy to file a claim, but delayed processing times.

Filing a claim with PetsBest was easy, very easy. Took about 2 minutes in the app, so that part of the process was great. Now the not so great part, it took approximately 1.5 months and 1 month (respectively) to see reimbursement for our two claims; this is my first time using PetsBest, so I am not sure if this is typical for them or due to short staffing (I received multiple emails apologizing for the delay). I hope that it will be quicker in the future. They provided the coverage that they said they would provide (we have wellness insurance for our pup in addition to regular coverage), and everything seemed to be accurate on the explanation of benefits.

Kinda disappointed with the mobile app

Kinda disappointed that the mobile app keeps showing the name and photo of my pet who passed away and it won’t save my changes. The app also does not show my most recent pet. I contacted Pets Best but unable/unwilling to help me.

Pets Best excellent service

Pets Best reimbursed us for exactly the amount I had calculated we were due without any fuss. They kept in touch with me on why they were running late (Covid). Throughout our experience with them (many years), they have always been helpful and polite and fair.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
