Did not pay claims even with appeals

I submitted 4 or 5 for over $500 claims for my dogs on going staph infection. Initially denied, and then the appeal was denied based on skin allergies/skin issues. Even with the vets notes that these were not due to allergies or normal skin allergies.

Customer service is VERY poor. Help is never available.

We’ve had problems. Many claims are denied or considered incomplete. When we call we never get an answer or if we leave a message we don’t get a callback. I’m SO unhappy with this company.

I have been very satisfied with Pets Best. They cover what they say they will cover. I have 4 pets covered by Pets Best and would highly recommend them to my family and friends.

No problem getting reimbursed properly but it takes a while.

Slow claims returns and for some reason they duplicated my claims. So I got duplicate eobs. The one that came through first showed 0 paid because it was duplicate. Not very easy to follow along. But after combing through everything we were reimbursed in accordance with our plan terms. No fighting for reimbursement. Claims turn around about 2.5 weeks.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
