Takes Forever….

I had used Pets Best with my previous dog for 10 years. I was extremely pleased. I am using it now with another dog for 5 months now and my experience is just so so. Claims take 6 weeks minimum for anything non routine. They have had medical records for > a month and it still says “ reviewing”. They are beyond SLOW in processing claims. I contacted my vet to confirm requested medical records sent 5 weeks prior. My Medicare is faster!! I would probably shop around if I were to start over again.

Very grateful for Pets Best insurance…

Very grateful for Pets Best insurance for our dogs. Our oldest dog had an ACL injury and we were willing to do anything for her to give her the best life. We found a veterinarian hospital that was willing to take care of our ole girl, and Pets Best insurance worked with the hospital and myself to get these claims processed. Our dog’s surgery was almost $5000 and our insurance covered over $4000 of it. I don’t know what we would have done if we didn’t have insurance we didn’t trust.

Great experience, very straightforward

I had a great experience with Pets Best, my dog had to have emergency surgery after eating a toy that got stuck inside, and Pets Best was very straightforward to use. I got my refund back (minus the deductible and coinsurance) in just two weeks!

SO glad I got it

SO glad I got it! The insurance has been so helpful and, once you meet the deductible, they have paid -- without issue -- medications for my puppy, urgentcare visits, etc. Like anything, when your pup is having seizures and you are making ER visits and are already nervous and stressed about it all and want the dog to be ok, it's comforting to know that the bills aren't mounting and you can afford the care that they need.

Everything is a pre existing condition.

Everything is a pre existing condition. If your dog had an ear infection 5 years ago, preexisting condition. If a stray attacks your dog on a walk years prior, and then a neighbors dog gets into your yard and bites him, well that's aggression and a preexisting condition. Absolute lunacy. He's 8 years old and we live an active lifestyle, MOST things have already happened at least once, which is why I wanted insurance to begin with!

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
