I am grateful for my coverage and for how NW Pet supports me and my Pet.

I am very happy with Customer Service, my claim handling etc. My only bit of constructive feedback is related to prescription refills. The two vets that I work with, their software does not print my dog's name on the receipts. This is only for refills, and this results in these get denied. The vets will not change their systems as it is costly.

Worst experience ever

My dog doesn't have any pre-existing conditions and still puts it as a pre-existing condition. The customer service rep couldn't answer simple questions and simply said I don't know.

Claim process still very manual - why not implementing an online form and submission process? Also, I have being trying to update my address and contact information for the claim form for months with no reply so far.

Fast and efficiant!

I was very pleased with the fast service I received after my latest visit to the Vet ER. They made the process less stressful during a stressful time. Thank you!

Finally, a Great Pet insurance

I have had pet insurance for my cat for two years, but never used it last year, being reluctant to even claim a regular vet visit. This year, my cat had several visits, planned and unplanned due to dental surgery (3 teeth removed). That resulted in not only pain and suffering alongside the cat, but a rather substantial bill. To my absolute surprise, Nationwide covered a large amount of that bill, 90% (minus tax). This insurance is better than mine (almost) :)

Monthly Cost

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
