Good experience
After several years having not made any claims (and the insurance being expensive for us), it finally paid off with Izzy's surgery. The claims were handled fairly quickly and at the 90% reimbursement as stated. Thank you, Nationwide.

Insurance is a must
I signed up for pet insurance with Nationwide at the suggestion of a co-worker who has two dogs. I was having to take Paco to the vet for various small health issues and it was starting to add up. Shortly after I signed up, another dog attacked him while on a walk on a leash and Nationwide covered a lot of the vet expenses related to the injury. If i didn't have insurance it would have been a $2,000 bill on me. He has since had a bee sting, also covered by Nationwide. I definitely recommend getting insurance. Monthly premium is $35 and it covers most vet care (except for preventative--vaccines, flea meds, etc.)
Nationwide was easy to get, has electronic claim form submissions and you can have them transfer reimbursement payment directly to your bank account. It takes about a month to get reimbursed, which is probably my only complaint. But otherwise, great insurance.

The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees.
All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.
Payout Limits
Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances.
There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.
Deductible
Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000.
Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.
Age Limits
No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.
Other plans may have age restrictions.
Waiting Period
14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months).
Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
