nationwide (pet insurance) is on the dog's side

Even though there is a 2 hour time difference between Illinois and their head quarters, it is very easy to deal with both customer service and their agents. I have had this pet insurance for many years and even have Nationwide myself. Just as in insurance for us humans there are many different plans and payment options.

Best pet insurance on the market!

We have been with Nationwide (formerly VPI) for 12 or so years. We have always been extremely satisfied with the friendly customer service and prompt claims service! I would highly recommend Nationwide to any pet parent looking for the best pet insurance!

Outstanding coverage

We honestly can’t believe how good the insurance coverage has been for our pup Charley. She had to go to emergency and the entire bill was covered less the deductible. It certainly is comforting knowing that we have that for her.

Easier than I thought

I submitted my claim using vitusvet. Was absolutely hassle-free. I got an email when they received my claim and another as they were reviewing it. When my claim was approved I was able to have it sent directly into my bank account, there was no paperwork involved

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
