I have had VPI and now Natonwide for over thirty years. Wouldn't be without it.

Dustie has had bladder stone surgery and extensive follow up lab test. We are thrilled they have been covered.

Cancer claim

Ive taken my dog several times to the ASC center in Yonkers. Nationwide takes a little longer than I'm comfortable with to expedite the claim. Its not heartwrenching but its a little anxiety ridden.

Everything should be this easy!

Insurance for humans should be this easy to deal with. I had to cal. Agent answered quickly and was helpful. I was able to upload documents and track their progress. What a great insurance company.

Overall very happy but claim response has been slow

Overall we are very happy that we got pet insurance. Claim resolution has been fair. Submitting a claim is super easy with the app and they pay with direct deposit. When I first signed up they resolved claims within a week or two and now it seems to stretch in to four weeks which means that it takes longer to get repaid. Hoping that they speed things up. We absolutely do recommend Nationwide Pet Insurance to friends and would get it again.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
