Electronic Payment Problems

Very good service. Request for additional Vet information to complete my claim was totally understandable but found the electronic payment confirmations a pain. Both Nationwide & my bank need confirmations to pay. Why do I need to confirm I want payment. My payments expired after I followed procedures but not correctly I guess. Chase advised I needed to start over with Nationwide. Thankfully I was told they would cut a paper check. I will be opting out of electronic payments but the quick recovery from Nationwde was excellent.

You've made our lives so much easier

Thank you for always being there for us and helping us with payments so that we never had to think twice about our beloved Jake's health....not that we would have ever skimped but you did make it easier. Jake passed away yesterday. We rescued him 10 years ago to the day and he gave us more love than we ever deserved. I will never recover from this loss.

Great response

I like the way you stay in touch and let us know when our vet has filed our claim. Also like that you make fairly prompt payment with no questions asked.

Great Investment!

Our pet insurance has paid for itself two times over! We highly recommend Nationwide and appreciate the peace of mind that the Vet Help Line provides as well.

Best pet insurance out there

Nationwide offers convenient, affordable pet health insurance for any budget. So much is covered with Nationwide, as opposed to other insurers. Many only cover emergencies. Nationwide covers almost everything except for preexisting conditions, which, by the way, you can appeal if your pet stays free of the condition for 6 months I believe. The whole pet with wellness plan makes sense for a dog, since they need a lot of care to keep them healthy. You can choose your own vet (make sure you get an itemized invoice), and reimbursement is usually paid in about 2 weeks, give or take.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
Since 1982, Nationwide has helped pet owners protect what matters most. As the largest provider of pet health insurance in the U.S., Nationwide currently insures over 600,000 dogs, cats, birds and exotic pets for medical conditions related to illnesses, injuries accidents and wellness care. In 2015, it introduced Whole Pet with Wellness, the only U.S. pet health insurance plan offering complete coverage for injuries, accidents, illnesses and wellness care. Policies range from nose-to-tail coverage to routine pet care plans that offer reimbursement for wellness exams and preventive treatments.
