Pretty good coverage

Overall the insurance coverage is good. I like that it pays for heartguard and nexgard supplies which many others do not. My only negative comment is the turnaround time, roughly three weeks from when they receive the claim to when you are notified about payment. I have used another insurance which their turnaround time was less than 2 weeks in most cases.

Nationwide pet insurance is one of the best things we have done for our pets.

Really appreciate the prompt responses to our questions and claims.

Awesome service as always

Odin has some issues with Eosinophilic Granulomas on his lip and feet. After a couple of vet visits, we were able to narrow down to a food allergy. After a diet change he hasn't had any reoccurrence. And had an echocardiogram to check his heart due to his breed, he passed with a perfect heart.

Too slow, but finally paid

Unfortunately, my first big claim didn’t go very smoothly. Although I filed the claim with all medical notes and invoices, every time I called to check the status of the claim I was told medical records were needed. I would have to insist until the agents would read the notes and agree they had all that was needed. Still, it took beyond 30 days to process the claim. It appeared like the underwriters were delaying the claim or not very coordinated in requesting medical records they already had. So I rated them a 7 bc although they took a while and I had to be very persistent, the last agent I spoke with recognized this had taken too long and moved the process along. We were paid shortly after that.
