Nationwide | Pet Insurance Review

Shortly after we got Sadie, a Black Mouth Cur, and saw what an avid hunter she was (squirrel, deer - anything that moved) and how she would fly through the woods with total abandon, I thought it would be wise to get insurance for the inevitable accident she was sure to have. All was well for a few years, at which time my husband thought we should stop the insurance but I insisted we keep it. Thank heaven! Not too long after, Sadie completely tore her cranial cruciate ligament, leaving her very lame and requiring surgery. With the final bills well over $4,000, this would have been a very difficult amount to manage. We were quite pleased with the amount the insurance covered, and relative ease of submitting claims. Our veterinarians have always submitted the claims for us, something I highly recommend, so that all details and codes are correct, thus eliminating either a denied claim or the need to resubmit. My pet insurance experience for my now 1 year old puppy has been extremely positive with Nationwide! Love the ease of submitting claims and the great coverage that comes along with it. My wife and I have also used the 24/7 Vet Helpline several times over the first year of having our pup, and they are always super responsive and helpful!

Great insurance wouldn’t be without it .

I am very happy with VPI coverage for Maddie. We live in an area that has rattlesnakes and we have had them in our back yard. We vaccinate Maddie every year, and she has had rattlesnake aversion training, but you just never know what might happen. I'm glad to know we are protected. Also, she has a sensitive stomach and is on a special diet, but sometimes she needs meds to get her back on track when she gets sick. I'm grateful to have this coverage. I tell everyone with pets about VPI and how happy we are with them.
