A very helpful exchange with a well informed and compassionate customer service rep.

Rated this a 5 under ease of claim because this was not actually a claim. It was a call to obtain information on how to file a claim when the diagnosis and prognosis resulted in performing euthanasia on the pet. Needed info on what vet services covered, death benefit claim and policy cancellation/premium refund etc. Also needed information on overage of a follow-up visit to vet by the euthanized pet's sibling littermate to check whether the same malady might be.developing in him. So it was not a pleasant task to make the call and the Nationwide customer service agent was very compassionate and provided very good advice and instruction on how to pursue the claim online

It was great to be able to focus on my dog and not the vet bill when we didn’t know what was wrong with him.

Recently our dog suddenly lost about 6 pounds. While the vet struggled to determine why, it was nice to focus on the dog and not worry as much about the vet bill. After several dewormings, he quickly put the weight back on!
