Nationwide | Pet Insurance Review

We have had our pet insurance for many years and it gives us comfort when making decisions on medical care for our dogs. Just like us, we felt it was important for them.

Super easy to submit claims and get reimbursed. I don't have any problem w/ Nationwide and our Dobie has been covered since 4 weeks old.

We signed up for Nationwide two years ago at a rate of $60 per month. This seemed reasonable and we wanted to make sure that our dog was covered. Our dog is now 3 and they have increased our rates by $90 per month. They are now asking for $150 per month. We now feel stuck with this insurance as other insurances may not cover anything deemed to be a pre-existing condition. When I called Nationwide to see why the price went up so much, they said all plans went up due to increased costs in veterinary care. $90 per month seems like quite a significant increase for ‘increased costs in veterinary care’ in one year. I didn’t feel they were being honest with me and I feel like we are being punished for using the insurance to cover a surgery our dog needed to have on her leg. I would not recommend Nationwide unless you only need it for a year, otherwise you are locked in and they will significantly increase the prices taking advantage of the fact that you are locked in with them.

You guys have saved me so many times this is our first dog that has been this hyper for a bulldog. She is a handful and needs the best. Thank you guys for being there for her always.

On my second year with Nationwide and am more than happy with how easy sending in claims.
