A Reason to "smile" after Dental Surgery

My cat recently underwent dental surgery - his first procedure since his adoption a few years ago. Since I was very unfamiliar with the process, I depended on both the Vet's office staff as well as Nationwide customer service representatives to guide me through the process and answer my questions. The customer service I received at Nationwide was excellent. Prior to the surgery, I called to ask about the claim process and Rhonda was incredibly helpful. She talked me through the details of my current plan and even sent me followup information about the other options in case I wanted to change my plan in the future. After the surgery, I received a confirmation that my claim had been received. I had heard from other pet-owners that insurance doesn't always have great coverage for dentals, so I was quite surprised when I saw that Nationwide covered nearly the entire cost of the procedure (aside from the deductible and the cleaning - which is not included in the plan). I was reimbursed very quickly (I received my checks within a week of receiving the notice), and am very happy with the communication during and after the experience. I also find the Nationwide online portal to be very helpful and user friendly, and I will continue to use it in the future. I am considering changing my plan to also include wellness in the future, but the coverage I currently have was very adequate for this procedure. Thanks!

Good insurance

This is good insurance to have but the payment limits can be frustrating. My dog had cancer a few years ago and needs a checkup with his oncologist a few times a year, which includes an ultrasound each time. The radiology limit is so low that his insurance pays for less than one ultrasound per year. Overall, it has been a big help and it really helped us to get partial reimbursement for his chemo. Our other dog recently died but he had the upgraded plan that paid 90% of everything after a $250 deductible. That plan was awesome! They even paid for his cremation. Claims are easy to submit through the Vitus Vet app, and payment is simple with direct deposit. I have looked at other pet insurance companies and Nationwide has been superior to everyone else. If we get any more pets in the future we will insure them with Nationwide.

Thank you for helping us get Marni through her TPLO surgery & rehab!

Marni had TPLO surgery on her left knee in December. She has healed beautifully but we are so thrilled that we had Nationwide's Pet Insurance to help defray the expense of this expensive surgery & her rehabilitation. It was a great help! Marni still has to go back for her final check-up & x-rays but we are expecting a perfect report because she has done so well! Thank you!
