Keeps my puippy healthy and happy

I bought the insurance based on my veterinarian's recommendation, as my puppy was quickly identified as "a chewer", everything goes in her mouth and the vet said this was a good investment against any unforeseen visits. Fortunately that has not happened, but the insurance has been a real help in managing the costs of all of her initial care visits.

Confused

Nationwide has been pretty okay so far for pet insurance. Most things have been covered and claims are processed relatively quickly. My big qualm / frustration is that I am confused why my wellness plan credits (aka coverage of 2 vet visits per year) were taken away from me and applied towards a medical /accident visit. This occurred within the first month of the plan. The dog was taken in for 1 routine visit and then 2 weeks later had a medical emergency and needed to go in for another visit. Instead of grouping this under the medical emergency plan, Nationwide applied this visit to my annual wellness allocations. We are now unable to go see the vet for a wellness visit for 11 whole months (unless we go without coverage). This is both saddening and disheartening that our young 1 year old dog will have to wait to get a check-up because the insurance company decided to play tricks with their coverage & policy. For a company 'that cares about pets'...it sure doesn't seem like it. Alfie will be delayed on his routine shots and check-ups because we cannot afford to visit the vet before the wellness policy resets. Feel free to reach out if you think this situation requires amends and a wholesome solution... (put the pet first)
