Took 4 months to get first response

Was paying $80 bi weekly to cover 3 pets, $250 deductible each. Brought my dog in for vaccines and and antibiotic and paid $360. Had been expecting 90% back of the $110. Took them 2 months to tell me no that because his antibiotics were needed because of allergies that lead to his infection they don’t count. I’ve already paid them 3 times what I was hoping to get back. Just the fact that it takes them 3 weeks to process a regular claim is ridiculous in this online world.

Thank Goodness for Pet Insurance

Nationwide Pet insurance offers terrific service. As our pet grew older, he needs more veterinary services. Nationwide has recently improved the claims and payment services speeding up the time it takes to process and pay. It's nice not having to worry about vet bills each month.

Exactly Why We Opted For Pet Insurance

We obtained this insurance for exactly what it is to be used for - insurance against the potential unknown treatment needs of our dog. We have had this coverage for nearly 3 years, from when we brought our boy home from the breeder as a 7 week old pup. We have had no issues with claim submissions and processing of submitted expenses have been quick. We hope to not need to utilize the coverage in the future, but we have the added comfort of knowing we have the protection of this coverage should it be needed.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
