fraud

One year ago my dog was diagnosed with thyroid disease, anemia and being lethargic was a side affect. It has been one year since diagnosed with the disease and she has been stable and back to new with the medicine she is one, for one year she went in to the vet for blood work as needed to make sure she was where she needed to be, and she was. One year later she came down with an auto immune disease, which also has the side effects of being anemic and lethargic. Nationwide is trying to say that her anemia and being lethargic from an ENTIRE YEAR AGO WITH AN ENTIRE DIFFERENT DISEASE is related and they will not cover her new disease because of it. I have PROOF of blood work and had the doctor call and tell them it is two separate cases and they still do not want to cover me. What is the point of insurance if you have to jump through hoops and you pay them to protect you and they DON'T!

Quick turn around time

This was the first time using Nationwide's pet insurance. Our gate had been left open and our dog got out and had been hit by a car. It was super traumatic and the vet bills were over a thousand dollars to make sure she didn't have internal injuries, and to get her stitched up. My first attempt at submitting the claim through VitusVet didn't show the correct PDFs with my itemized statement, even though i had attached all of them. After calling and asking why the initial claim was denied, the customer service agent advised me to send the pdfs and resubmit the request via email. After that it was a pretty quick process and was approved in a few days.

Great Service!

I was debating getting pet insurance as my family decided to add too with a golden retriever puppy. I AM SO HAPPY I MADE THE DECISION! While I expected to have some vet visits due to a puppy being a puppy, I didn’t expect so many vet visits so frequent for multiple issues. While the stress it put on my family from and emotional and especially financial standpoint, Nationwide has been so quick to respond to my submitted claims and help with the cost of each pet visit. Submitting claims and getting reimbursed has been such a smooth and painless process. I am more than happy and relieved to have purchased pet insurance especially with Nationwide!
