Confidence

Nationwide has supported our pet Roxy since we got here as a puppy. They have provided guidance and advice which allowed us to choose a great veterinarian provider for her. Nationwide has promptly reviewed and paid the claims provided for her care. Thanks in advance for providing us with the confidence to keep Roxy healthy and happy.

Looks for ways to exclude conditions and avoid claims

The review process for our claims has taken a long time and it feels like NW looks for a way to avoid claim payments by excluding condiitons. For example, or dog started itching due to allergies. When the vet asked how long this had been going on I had no idea but "guestimated" 1 -2 weeks. He wrote down 2 weeks which happened to be just before the effective date of our policy. NW proceeded to exclude all allergy claims past present and future based on an "guestimate" of when it started and the vet writing down the longer end of the range given. Second example, our dog was being spayed and they discovered that her spleen needed to be removed. The vet stated that he expected it would be covered by NW, but NW denied claim since the bad spleen must have developed over time and therefore occurred prior to effective date of policy. If you go with NW, recommend starting as a puppy to avoid the prexisting condition issue that NW uses extensively to avoid paying claims.
