Excellent insurance, but unhappy with customer service.

Your insurance is phenomenal. I can't say enough good things about your insurance. Your customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Your insurance rates went up a ridiculous amount of money this year. It was absolutely absurd! If this wasn't such a good policy I would have immediately dropped the insurance. When I called to try to get some understanding about this outrageous increase the agent was borderline rude, and totally disinterested in my concerns. Basically, her attitude was that if I didn't like it either deal with it or cancel my policy.

Smartest purchase for your pet

Nationwide has been amazing in paying for all my dogs treatment. He isn't even 2 yet, has had 1 surgery, 1 endoscopy (he likes to swallow things whole), he has had acupuncture & laser treatment, he has seen a neurologist & dermatologist and they have covered everything. The first couple claims, I wasn't really sure I would get reimbursed since I'd never had this kind of insurance before but I never had an issue. Everything has been reimbursed and in a very quick timeframe. It's a wonderful thing to know I will never have to make a decision on my dogs healthcare options because I just can't afford it. I have talked with many people who have pet insurance & say it covers nothing, that is not the case here. My 1st year premium was $45/month. But one emergency procedure can cost thousands. Hopefully you never have to use it, but I have a lot & it has saved me financially. It is worth every penny & I recommend Nationwide to everyone.

Awesome company to deal with

I signed Lily up for pet insurance back in July of 2019. Luckily, we have only had to use it for routine vaccinations and one minor illness. Coverage is excellent, payments are received fast once your deductible is met. I was in a panic one night after normal vet office hours and used the vet helpline which was very helpful. Lily is a very active 17 month old, it makes me feel better knowing that she has pet insurance with a reliable company in case of any emergencies.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
