Nationwide | Pet Insurance Review

We like Nationwide a lot

The premium is reasonable, coverage is great, claim process is easy and response is prompt.

I have 3 policies with Nationwide and for the most part, it is is good insurance. Historically, Nationwide has taken a full 30 days to reimburse me, but the last few claims were processed much quicker (one week). You can opt to have reimbursement funds sent directly to your bank account which is convenient. Their insurance structure is similar to human insurance in that policies have an annual deductible and co-pay versus a per-incident deductible. Contrary to the language in their literature, they do raise rates annually and some years the jump is higher based on the amount of claims I've had. Perhaps that's coincidental, but I think not. Their policies do not cover pre-existing conditions, but none of the pet insurers do. It's best to get pet insurance immediately upon adoption.

We had this insurance for our dog that recently (sadly) passed away. Nationwide was very good about covering many of the last expenses like specialist visits, regular visits, and emergency care. We have both our kittens insured now. Nationwide a large portion of the cost of spaying which is very helpful.

We don't know what we would do without Nationwide to help us with costs of our dear boy Rocky. Being a rescue pup, we were not aware of any allergies or skin issues. Being that we live in the mountains of Lake Tahoe and the beaches of Florida, you never know what may come up. Thank you for providing this wonderful service and always treating our claim promptly.
