Nationwide Insurance is the best pet insurance and would highly recommend the purchase and maintenance of a policy for your pets

You never want to use insurance for your pet; but if you do need it Nationwide Pet insurance is there when you need it. Also, Nationwide makes it easy to file claims. Most importantly, we have confidence that Nationwide values our pet almost as much as we value our family member. I'm glad our vet offered the insurance when our dog was only a puppy.

Easy and quick

It's pretty easy to submit a claim and the reimbursement is issued in a couple of days. I'm really happy with my pet insurance coverage and with how easy it is to get reimbursed for the vet expenses.

Exceeded my Expectations

I have been very satisfied with the customer service, friendliness, and the ease of claims. The only feedback I had was that the insurance took a few weeks to start. I had gotten a new pup that I wanted to take to the vet to get checked up (as most people would). It was not feasible for me to wait a few weeks until the insurance kicked in. I knew I would have to pay anyway since there was a $250 deductible, but I was not happy about this not being applied. If anything I would think the risk for the insurer is higher for me to wait and not get the checkup. Would have liked some flexibility there.

What a lifesaver!

We hoped we'd never have to use our insurance for our sweet dog, Sadie, but after several health issues, having the plan has been a life- and wallet-saver. I've also been super impressed with the recent improvements with your claim submission options and processing times.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
